Imagining. . .

Just being with my little one. No matter the pain or sadness of everyday, just sitting with my baby, pulling them onto my lap, and holding. Telling them: "You did so well today, baby," while I sway them. Telling them: "I'm so proud of you, tiny," and giving them a kiss on the forehead. Just comforting my precious baby, seeing the pain of all day wash away to be comfortable, to be small, to be happier.

Opening their snacks for them !!

Picking up their stuffies if they fall off the bed! Making sure that my little one knows their beloved stuffie isn’t mad or upset, they know it was an accident!

Pet names !!

Want something you can’t reach? Don’t worry, mama will get it for you!

Tying a baby’s shoes for them ^^

Helping them dress themselves! Having issues with a button or zipper? Mama’s already got it!

Sippy cups.. juice? Water? Coffee? As long as it’s in moderation, of course you can have it, kiddo! Which cool pattern do you want today?

Diapers, if you use them! No, don’t worry, mama doesn’t think they’re gross. You’re a tiny little baby, aren’t you? And tiny babies use nappies!

Cutting food into pretty shapes. Want your toast like a heart? What about a star? Yummy snacks always taste better when made with love!

And of course, head pats. Always a classic!

Top 5 tricks and phrases to make your little one regress:

- Fix little parts of their clothes, and tie their laces.

- Use their favorite petnames when greeting.

- Spoonfeed them, and bonus, say “aaaah” while you do.

- “Good job, baby!” for praise, plus a sticker for rewards.

- “Let me help; you’re a bit too little for that, aren’t you?”

Little ones hate these tricks!!!

Im case nobodies told you this today, its ok to not feel ok little one.

Big feelings in a little head can make us feel like we may be wrong for feeling that way, but i implore you to take a moment to accept those feelings. Have some time to rest maybe even have a good cry if thats what you need, and take this post as a checkpoint and reminder that you've done well.

When I'm in caregiver space:

I have an almost overwhelming urge to take care of a regressor. To listen to them babble and giggle, to hold them in my arms and never let go. Or if they're older, to play games together. To crack awful jokes just to make them smile and relax with one another.

No matter if they're regressed to an infant, a kiddo, or a teenager, I want to take care of them. Cooking meals, helping them get dressed, filling their bottle or sippy cup with water, comforting them whenever they're sad or upset, and teaching them new things.

I also feel the need to talk to other caregivers. Two (or more) parents or guardians discussing just how much we love our regressors, what we're struggling with, planning playdates or trips, and giving advice.

𝄞 i'm so so sorry about not being super active lately! i know there aren't very many of you that would care, but i still would like to apologize.

i haven't been doing the best, but i'm almost all better now and in a good headspace! adding to that, my creativity has been in a steady decline, but again, its doing better! i'll try to squeeze out a couple posts soon ♡

Caring for a little with mental illness. Learning their triggers and giving them extra support when they struggle. Giving them the time they need to regulate their emotions and sitting with them through their pain. Always being kind and guiding them to a calm and gentle state of mind. Advocating for them on tough days and putting in the work to understand their symptoms. Comforting them especially when they feel like no one in the world feels the way they do. Never letting them feel alone so they know it's safe to be who they are.

Imagining. . .

Calming my fussy baby down after a bad dream. Petting hair away from teary cheeks and hushing softly, even as their balled hands try to knock memories out of their head. Holding their head, so their little hits don’t make impact with them, just me.

“It’s okay,” I can tell them quietly, as they are so small, scared and overwhelmed. “Hush, it’s okay, baby. No bad dreams. I’m here.”

Holding them close and letting my tiny thing weep until it feels better, swaddled with me. Rubbing baby’s back gently, humming comfort into their hair. “That’s it, good job. Breathe, tiny. It’s okay, tiny,” I remind.

I don’t rest until my baby has, first. Until their breathing steadies, until the paci I gave them falls because they are asleep. I keep my baby in my arms, as I lie down, petting their head, like I can paint over bad memories with good ones. Regardless, I’m there, always, for my little one.

activity sheets that has a stick figure that could help pinpoint where her baby's hurting at or even an emotion scale to gauge how her tiny one is doing mentally.
