hi! im madelyn (she/it) (preemptively sorry if this is a bit annoying to see on your feed? dashboard? its an intro/stuff i wanted to say)

i kind of thought that after 2 months (also holy shit i did not realize its been two months) i would've gotten the hang of tumblr in some capacity, but ive just been lurking and reblogging stuff for my entire time here.

i dont really know how to talk to people i dont know, as much as id like to. theres a lot of really cool people here that absolutely terrify me, and im always extremely worried that id end up being the "weird" one if i tried to interact more (if i could actually figure out what to say that is).

for an actual introduction, ummm... I don't really know where to start. i like lounging around all day pretending like im somewhat productive, i like watching cool shows that interest me (severance, devs, the rehearsal, pluribus), even though admittedly I don't watch that much unless its recommended to me. i also love my awesome fucking girlfriend and she's really cool.

on a more personal interests side, kinda nsfw i think? i liked reading hdg, it gave me a yearning i didnt know i had and then pushed me into realizing i really like the concept of objectification (but like the type where i dont have to think anymore because someone is there to hold me close and tell me everything is okay), a bit of dollification, and other things like puppy stuff, like being collared and leashed, mmaybe some bondage stuff (i kinda want paws and the inability to walk on two legs for some reason qwq).

And the fact that not wearing a bra is so discouraged and stigmatized that people think the movement was about being able to go braless under your shirt in public rather than about being able to not wear a shirt at all says a lot about how far we've backslid in the past decade

"Dogwhistles" are called that based on real "dog whistles", many of which are pitched too high to be audible to most humans, but are still perfectly audible to dogs.

Rhetorical dogwhistles are things that most people would not be able to identify as bigoted because they're INTENDED to have plausible deniability.

The wording changes are meant to be subtle enough that people really can mix them up accidentally when they don't have much information!

So when the gender critical movement calls trans women "transwomen", they're hoping for 2 things.

this usage will spread enough among people who don't know any better, to give transphobes the plausible deniability of not LOOKING like a frothing bigot constantly.

the usage grammatically places trans women in a different category than other women; it's changing "trans" from an adjective to part of a noun to make this distinction.

The more we can avoid this usage, the less deniability have transmisogynists have when using it, and the less rhetorical ground we cede to the degendering and misgendering of trans women.

I don't actually think ceding this ground is LESS divisive than pointing it out politely.

i cant stop feeling gross about that time in 8th grade when i tried giving myself DID because of some "want" i cant figure out the source of or process. it is in the most direct way a mental itch i cant scratch, like i feel restless just imagining it, and i dont know why its there but i want to get rid of it so i can stop feeling so shitty about it being there

a lot of the time it just feels like my brain is peeling itself apart to try and solve an unsolvable problem. every time i try and define the feeling its just this vague uncomfortableness that has a different taste every time. this time its that feeling of being in a warm swamp and everything is sticky and it feels impossible to feel "right"

I haven't had to make a post like this before, but the situation is pretty dire and the landlord management whatever is doing fuck all, so.

I'm currently staying at my sister's place, of which has a mold, ant, and leaking water problem. we've had to deal with ants crawling out of the walls three separate times this week, and it's become too much to deal with. the ants are crawling out of the outlets now. im trying to get money for her to help her move. moving costs plus fees and rent and whatever will probably be a lot so im. on my hands and knees asking for this
