So I just saw turning red recently and I really don't get the negative reviews. Like periods are a normal thing that teenagers go through. I really don't get how ppl think of them as taboo and inNaPpRoPriAte when literal children go through them. It did not condone rebelling against your parents. It condoned setting up healthy boundraies. It was really clear that Mei's mom was continually violating her boundraies and treating her as if she was a perfect child that could do no wrong. That moment was crucial to mei's development because she finally stopped seeking that validation from her mother and showed her who she truly was. She finally accepted parts of herself that everyone in her family shunned away. And finally you do not need to relate to something and see yourself in it to enjoy a movie. Not only that but think of the POC that actively had to watch media that centered ur viewers. Honestly people are just really trying to say they are racist in different fonts.

Update on this situation. Turns out this entire thing was a scam from Debbie so I urge all of you to not donate to her go fund me.
