I've been in my apartment for 2.5 years and 1 day.

Nothing noteworthy has happened. I did get my showerhead installed that I requested. That was the highlight of the past half-year, lol. I won't say it's a GREAT help yet...I sprayed myself in the face with it. But I think it'll mostly make showering easier on me, for sure.

I still don't feel like this is home. But my parents' house no longer feels like home either. So that's fun. I'm too broke to do the things I want to do to make here feel more like home. Just gonna have to wait. Money's a bitch. Living on a fixed income is a bitch. This economy is a bitch.

But. Bub and I are doing well enough. My pain's been flaring really badly lately and I haven't been sleeping well, but what's new there? My doctor gave me permission to try berberine for my insulin resistance since metformin was making me so miserable. I have to stick with the same method for three months and then she'll do labs and we'll reevaluate what to do after that.

Bub's still got that whiteness in his eye but it doesn't seem to have spread, which seems like what the vet was mainly concerned about. Plus he doesn't seem to be displaying any issues seeing or anything like that, so I guess we're fine?

Just struggling to maintain a day-to-day routine. I feel like my apartment isn't clean enough. But the fatigue is unreal. So I just do what I can, I guess. My partner says they'd eat off the floor here. I'm like I absolutely would not but okay... But they say compared to other places they frequent, I'm golden. Tomorrow is my mom's birthday. Trying to gather up the umph to bake her some cookies to take over there tomorrow as a surprise. I wish I knew what her favorite dessert was. Seems weird that I don't. But if I ask she'll get suspicious.

Rn we're mostly worried about a heat wave that's gonna hit at the end of the week. Temps up to 100°, which is so high for PA and the ac won't be available.

He does have battery back ups for his cpap, so that's at least one good thing.

The newest news is that the local church that helps with utilities talked to him and now they know his situation, they're gonna pray on it and let him know if they can help *next week*. The local united way also said that he might be able to work with a grant program to get a payback plan.

But until then high 90s for the rest of the week.

Friends have taken him to get bags of ice.

And *fingers crossed* he might have a place to go for the days when it's the hottest.

The church says no earlier than 2 weeks due to red tape. The utilities commission says earliest is 2 weeks.
