Ahhh I love PMD AUs! do you wanna take advantage of this ask to elaborate more on the au? Like what sort of pokemon are some of the other major characters?
Ahh thank you so much!! I’ve been talking about this a little with some friends and kind of forming it so it’s appreciated you gave this ask so I could just spew!
QUICK INFO:
- Treasure Town is basically Jubilife Village.
- The Guild is called the Galaxy Guild, basically the Galaxy Team.
-Instead of time falling apart, it’s space-time. I’m replacing Primal Dialga with Primal Giratina(? I’m trying to figure out what to do with Arceus or if I even need them) and instead of time stopping, there are areas where the distortion world is bleeding into reality.
And now, some of my considerations for other major characters. I will talk about them in relation to PMD Sky characters in the story so even though the game is old, be wary of the accompanying text if you’re not familiar with the game but want to be, and want to avoid spoilers.

REI, LAVENTON, KAMADO, CYLLENE
REI — PIKACHU. If he’s the professors assistant, he has a pikachu in PLA. But also, Eevee has been advertised as Pikachu’s counterpart and so he can match Akari like this.
Story-wise he takes bidoof’s role — the guild’s newest recruit, but even more of an active friend to hero and partner than bidoof is.
LAVENTON — DUBWOOL. I had no idea what to make him but several friends immediately said dubwool and it made me realize how obvious that should be.
Story-wise, Laventon would be given an entirely new role that PMD Sky doesn’t have a character for. I imagine he’d be the guild’s record-keeper on dungeons and general knowledge, probably being the one to assign the tasks to the boards too.
KAMADO — KINGAMBIT. I can’t not make him Kingambit with the armor, that sharp mustache, and its disposition as a leader of groups.
Story-wise, Kamado would take Wigglytuff’s role; guildmaster. Obviously the one who started the Galaxy Guild.
CYLLENE — SCEPTILE/BISHARP. I’m undecided on her, but friends liked sceptile when they proposed it and I did too. (If I don’t make Cyllene a bisharp, I may make Beni one — he probably runs The Wallflower canteen equivalent of Spinda’s Cafe.)
Story-wise, she’d take Chatot’s role. Often assigning hero and partner what to do for the day, and closest under the guildmaster.

ZISU, COGITA
ZISU — LOPUNNY/SHINY URSALUNA. The big ears just match her hairstyle so well, and friends both pointed out that lopunny has a mega that’s fighting type which I think fits her well. But I also recalled I have a shiny ursaluna in PLA that I named Zisu, and I’ve made jokes about her having the strength of an ursaring. Unsure.
Story-wise, she’d take Marowak’s role as owner of Treasure Town’s dojo, and urges Hero and Partner to train there and get stronger.
COGITA — FURFROU/ABSOL. I’d love to give Cogita a furfrou form with a unique cut that resembles her own clothes. Maybe she’d be shiny to get that black fur. But I also thought an absol would fit well with her.
Story-wise, she’d take elder Torkoal’s role, seeing as they both know about old legends and they both live away from town.

IRIDA, ADAMAN
IRIDA - WEAVILE. I think it would be really fun to mess around with weavile’s crest and jewels to resemble her own, and Irida gets to keep her ice typing.
ADAMAN - ARCANINE/LUCARIO. I’m really unsure on Adaman. I considered giving him Arcanine to match Irida with being non-hisuian counterparts to hisuian pokemon, and using the stereotype of being a dog to Irida’s cat since they don’t get along. Same reason I’m also considering Lucario. But I’m VERY unsure on this.
Story-wise, I’d need to give them entirely new roles, but I haven’t thought on that yet.

VOLO
VOLO — ABSOL/TYPE:NULL, SILVALLY. This one is a really hard choice for me. Absol can really pull of both hairstyles, and I like attributing Volo to Absol’s traits — he knows something is coming. But I also think Type:Null and Silvally would be an amazing use — he is a Pokémon build to replicate the very deity he is trying to get the attention of.
Story-wise, I imagine he’d take Dusknoir’s role. Someone who we really look up to until the end when we find out their true intentions, and they’re working with a legendary.

COIN, CHARM, CLOVER
COIN — GALARIAN/ALOLAN MEOWTH. These evo lines were suggested by a friend and I really liked this one, I think coin’s hairstyle can work well with these meowths’ whiskers.
CHARM — SHINY HISUIAN ZOROARK. The color scheme works too well for me not to use it. And there is a lot of anger in this group over feeling cast out or not fitting in.
CLOVER — SALANDIT. I think Clover’s hairstyle can translate well to salandit’s psudo-headscarf.
Story-wise, they take Team Skull’s role, as they’re all bandits just looking to steal treasure, but they’re not as bad as they try to present themselves as.

I have a lot more thoughts on other characters (even Emmet and Elesa are in here!!), but none of them are quite as solid as this so I’ll refrain from rambling lol. (And even these might change too!)

Ingo and Akari are surprised when they’re approached by a Hisuian Zoroark parent and their kits — these aggressive pokemon are notorious for secluding themselves away from most Pokémon towns, and keeping others away from them. The group even seems standoffish while they approach them! For a moment, Ingo is concerned they accidentally encroached on Zoroark territory, and they’re about to be attacked.
But when Zoroark hands a request over to the exploration team, begging the pair to go find their third missing kit, it makes a little more sense.
Without hesitation, Akari reassures the group they’ll find the missing Zorua as soon as possible.

September Magma event "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon" results!!
This time on Magma we set off on adventures in a mysterious alternate world where only the Pokémon live! We explored wondrous locations, teamed up while hunting for treasure, helped Pokémon in need and had a lovely time hanging out together!
For this event we included beloved characters from the official Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games as well as official human characters transformed into Pokémon, I wonder if you recognised them all? And also Pokémon OCs/sonas so that everyone could get in on the fun!
This event was organised by @skyreptain who is a massive PMD fan! They put in their best effort make the whole event feel faithful to the game series as possible, it's really amazing!! They also prepared & edited the announcement videos featuring adorable riolu named Steffan (created, drawn & written by @aur0raaura)!

It was so much fun getting to participate in a Pokemagma this time! I usually can’t because I always work weekends and I’m also kind of shy with events like this, but @doodlejoltik was kind enough to encourage me to join! So many fun, kind, and talented people to talk and draw with!!
I got to add Typhlosion Ingo and Eevee Akari into it, and I did a little joltik for the joltik parade too!!
What a fun time! AND THE EVENT IS SO WELL DONE all of the backgrounds that were made for this are amazing!! Hopefully I can join more in the future, if my job will let me! ^^
This is a good alternate universe, but honestly Dawn should be in Oshawott
I agree, I think she’d be a fantastic oshawott! But I based my choices off of a playthrough of PMD Sky, and sadly Sky neither has oshawott as a choice, and has a very small selection of female partners. So an Eevee was my most liked choice.
I do like that an eevee can represent uncertainty and huge potential though! You can be whatever you want and have so many choices, and I feel like the character I get when I mix Akari with the PMD partner’s personality could work very well with a theme like that!
We got “True Form” Typhlosion Ingo, We got “I Am Displeased At Being Small” Cyndaquil Ingo, now all we need is “Awkward Middle Evolution” Quilava Ingo to round out the holy trinity /j
THANK YOU FOR THIS ASK OP!!! Thinking about Ingo as a quilava made me laugh, cause I think he’d also dislike being a quilava in some regards too.
What does he do with his hat, now that he can spout flames from his head? He’s afraid to wear it because he doesn’t want to accidentally burn it! And poor posture combined with the long, thin back of a quilava would cause constant aching, I think. He has hands and he’s bigger now, but at what cost??
