In the club
I think Iām literally never gonna be sick of this masterpiece. I think watching it on a loop for eight hours could fix me. Dancingās what clears my soul. Dancingās what makes me whole.
I just love that this very video is an accumulation of thousands of years worth of art made by people who have never met each other. The concept of this video was so completely unfathomable to every single artist who made the sculptures and yet theyāve all put something toward the creation of it.
the platelets in my body when I rip off the fresh scab they just spent hours working on
Just got an awesome new kitten sticker book and the stickers are glittery. All of the words are in Chinese but kitten memes transcend language.
the god of surveillance
listen i consider myself an empathic person but after a certain point i get sick of other peopleās problems. my friend is always talking about how the jewel-eyed skull on their mantlepiece is tormenting them w its sinister beauty and im over it. like dude i donāt want to talk about this anymore. get rid of the fucking skull
youā are biased against my skull
iām not having this argument again man
it bothers me when someone brings up misogyny in shounen anime and people shrug it off with "its designed for teenage boys, what can you expect." like well. idk i think its actually pretty important that shows for teenage boys are normal about women. i mean i think all media should be normal about women but teenagers are impressionable i think we could put a little bit of feminism in the teenage boy shows. it might do some good. you never know.

what should I listen to
women
So many women have internalized the idea that being difficult makes people think less of them, when in my experience the opposite is almost always true. Every single time I have spoken up, voiced what I actually need and refused to shrink the moment in order to be more comfortable for everyone else in the room, I have been approached afterward by people who wanted to know me better. There is no reward waiting for you on the other side of making yourself smaller. People do not love you more for taking up less space, they simply get used to you taking up less space and adjust their expectations accordingly. Every time I have been exactly as audacious as the moment required, it has opened doors rather than closed them and I have made real connections directly because of it rather than in spite of it.
There are hardly any female werewolves because they break all the classic rules of femininity. They force you to confront female violence, strength, size, grotesqueness and uncontrollability. Historically female shapeshifters always shift into something dangerous (snake) or sleek (cat) or dainty (bird) but female werewolves ignore the masculine gaze completely. They're distorted beasts that have no ulterior motive except to destroy. Nothing about them is nurturing or modest. They're the opposite of what a woman "should be." Their omission from pop culture is not an accident.
Can anyone recommend some entry level behaviours? Thinking of getting into being
british is not synonymous with white
european is not synonymous with white
the world is not divided into USA (melting pot), white countries and brown countries
"um you know the type of person I mean when I say british" hey do you think this line of thought may have Implications
this post is about black and brown people in britain and europe who are just as british and european as their white neighbours. everyone in the notes taking it as a cue to yammer about distinctions between types of white people in britain and europe is doing exactly what the post describes. shut the fuck up.
No exaggeration but theeeee most critical lesson I learned in my 20s was letting go when it was time. Itās so cliche but itās so true. I used to hold on so venomously to people, put on a tap dance for their approval, force relationships to last past their expiration date, carry the heavy lifting for reaching out because I didnāt want to feel āpassive.ā But when someone doesnāt want your effort itās not about passivity. Itās literally about self respect, not wasting your time, and gravitating only to people who have your best interest in mind and celebrate you. Iāve met so many older people who donāt know how to let go and it truly scares me that this could easily be me. Itās better to develop this skill early than it is to spend an entire lifetime begging for love and belonging.
