Yes, i do think wasps are lovely !

One was in my bedroom the other day, i have no clue how she got in. But i managed to trap her in a small lidded cup and release her outside.

Wasps are not cruel, evil things. They are just small animals trying to survive. If you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you. I have never been stung by any insect before despite often observing them very closely.

Even if i were to be stung, it would never be the insect’s fault. They would be protecting their own, and i overstepped their boundaries.

To love animals means you must respect all the native species, even if you don’t particularly like them 💛

This spring’s finds, so far 🫀

Freshly deceased shrew— i believe a feral cat was responsible. Buried him in a large dirt-filled jar with an open top to hopefully keep the bones from traveling. Will be collecting his skull in time.

This beautiful female gray tree frog, was one of the first frogs i found this season. I love when the tree frogs come out. They are loud, but so fun to find !!

you are not an “animal lover” if you demonize animals.

this includes dolphins, insects, sharks, chimpanzees, snakes, sea otters, etc. no animal deserves to be treated like a human criminal because of their natural behavior.

a lot of you forget that we humans came up with our own morals, and not even all of us still follow them. so what gives us the right to villainize animals who were never taught *our* morality?

dolphins, for example, show a great sense of individuality. so one bull may seem sexually aggressive, but another two may be very gentle and friendly. why should we wish harm upon the entire oceanic dolphin family because of a few aggressive individuals? do we think every human is automatically a rapist murderer because that one guy you saw on the news was?

i am so distraught over how some of us are treating the animals around us.

i don’t know what it is about this issue, but the chained coffin is my absolute favorite hellboy story.

i especially love the whole thing with azzael and sarah. the way azzael talks about her is something i think about often.

and the final panels are my favorites ever. i have no idea why.
