Lifeforce In Later Years gala event celebrating the life of Geoffrey Holder.

Top Picture: Geoffrey Holder - actor, choreographer, director, dancer, painter, costumer designer, author and voice-over artist - is a Tony Award recipient and Guggenheim Fellowship winner. With a career spanning from 1952 to present, Holder continues to make contributions to art and culture, most recently appearing on Celebrity Apprentice. 

In 1975, Holder became the first black man to win two Tony Awards for his direction and costumer design of the Broadway musical "The Wiz".

Holder was honored at LiLY's annual fundraising gala, recognizing that age is no barrier to cultural and artistic contribution.

Picture #2: Holder poses with his wife, dancer Carmen De Lavallade and former New York Governor David Patterson. The paintings in the background are Holder's creations.
