Recently I remembered something from my childhood...

We were talking about TV shows we watched as a kid at lunch. We them moved on to talking about irrational fears we have, washing machines, pancakes, the koolaid man, you know, the usual stuff. Then I remembered that when I was six, my parents told me about what communism was. I then watched Lazytown and realized it was a communist government. My mom turned it on. I was to scared to watch, she asked why, and I responded with, “Lazytown is a Communist agenda. I will not support that. I’m no commie, mommy.”

The problems of being an xNTJ girl:

Being perceived as not feminine enough. The fact that we often choose facts and logic over our emotions means that we do not fit into the traditional feminine stereotype of being emotional. Even though emotion is something humans experience regardless of gender, people will still think of us as “unfeminine.”

Being labelled as “bossy” and “bitchy,” when a guy with the same characteristics would most likely be celebrated.

People constantly doubt your ability to be objective.

Not being interested in conventionally “feminine” things, even though women have widely different interests and things do not actually possess gender.

Getting told to tone down our ambitions, because it might “scare men off.” (Despite the fact that there are many men who don’t actually give a crap.)

When we actually know a lot about a certain topic, people can undermine our intelligence because of our gender. We might know more about something than a male counterpart, but others will still doubt our competence.

I am speaking about these issues because they are things that I experience in my everyday life. Of course, us xNTJ girls live all over the world, and there are societies which are more sexist than others; our experiences can vary depending on where we live.

This post is not meant to promote my political views. It is simply meant to highlight some of the problems that girls who are similar to me might face.

Her name is Theresa Kachindamoto, and she is a senior chief - political leader of a region with a population of about 900,000 people.

She didn’t run for election; she was appointed, without her knowledge, while she was living and working in a completely different part of the country. She just received a call one day telling her to come back to her childhood home, because she was in charge now.

So she did; and when she arrived, she discovered widespread sexual abuse of children. She browbeat 50 uncooperative local leaders into accepting her decision to annul all the marriages. She then fired four of them when they continued to allow children to be married off in their areas. She still faces widespread opposition from parents who consider it their right to sexually abuse their daughters if they want to; but Kachindamoto very evidently does not give a fuck, and is continuing to use political and legal means to protect children in the region.

She’s not just an anonymous do-gooder; she’s an effective political leader despite incredibly difficult circumstances. Theresa Kachindamoto.

So here’s a true story: my father, sometime in the 70s was looking for his first job. He went to the local McDonalds and told the staff, [manager’s name] said I was supposed to start today. They took his word for it and started training him and by the time the manager saw him and asked who he was, people just said “oh that’s the new guy.”

Somehow this actually worked. My dad worked there for a couple of years as a cook. He even won an award plaque which he had on the wall until the day he died.

This is actually a cool thing I know about!

In the wild capybaras live in large groups so naturally a female capybara will take care of not only her own offspring, but all of the other offspring in the group. So capybaras are super great mothers who will adopt pretty much anything and take care of it.

Lots of places that rescue different animals will give a group of baby animals to a capybara to raise if they have one.
