Hello! I thought it would be nice to tell something about what a photograph can be about. This photograph I made because I was talking with my dad about music. All week I have been having the song 'Flower's grave' by Tom Waits in my head and it inspired me to make this. There is quite some symbolism is this image. The peonies are symbols for luck and health. Things you need to not get in a grave. The model, well me, wears a white jumper. White used to be the color to mourn in, this changed during the middle ages, so I had to have white clothing in the photograph. The last symbol is actually a coincidence; the long hair. In many cultures hair stands for power and spirituality. That fits really well with the song, although it's a coincidence that I have long hair.
