see like the thing about there being very few welsh/irish/scottish wizards isn’t just me being nitpicky, in english media we tend to stereotype the welsh, irish, and scottish and ignore that they exist. when they’re present, we get the Violent Scot, or the Country Bumpkin Idiot Welsh, or the Terrorist Irish, and it’s just…lazy.

look at david tennant as an example, he’s scottish but most of the time he uses an english accent because we still don’t like regional accents on tv, apparently

and like. considering that we made a very good try at getting rid of their languages and culture, the least we can do is represent them in our fiction a bit more?

(also, like, people from the north of england, but that’s a different matter)
