Something about Suo, who seldom attacks opponents directly, trying to split Endo’s brain open with his kick. Someone who was never truly aligned with Furin, angrily declaring that he is a part of the school just to reaffirm Sakura’s right to belong.

Then there’s the other thing with Sakura using Suo’s shoulder to kick at Endo. Earlier, it was Kanji who’d taught him the move (as such he could’ve repaid Kanji), yet Sakura choses to use the support of his vice captain. In the first place, Sakura is an arial fighter; he doesn’t need anything to prop himself up. I’d like to think this is Sakura’s response to Suo’s declaration more than anything.

The little detail of sakuras uniform being a crumpled mess on the ground is killing me.

His uniform is almost always neatly put up on the hangers, even after Keel and getting sick but now that he's learnt more about Suo leaving he's a mess.

I have to give a two hours tour in a forest for school in about 3 hours and i'm stressing tf out, but have some Sugishita panels and some of my thoughts surrounding him during last chapter, aswell as what i think might happen next chapter and if there's something happened between him and Suo.

I will say i've never posted something like this before.

Last chapter we had a lot of focus on Sugishita (which i love) and the whole time he looks lost in his thoughts. It could be because he's worried for Sakura, but maybe him and Suo had a talk before (or Suo told him another half lie/cryptic message) and he's starting to connect the dots and is pondering on what to do.

This panel could back up that idea. Here Suo connected the dots that Sugishita and Nirei talked, responding that he also wishes to talk a lot with Sugishita. I feel like IF Suo told anyone anything, it would maybe be Sugishita.

The left panel is when Sugi and the other found out that Suo is an officer of the red Chanpuru. He looks surprised but not as shocked as the other characters imo.

The right panel is from this weeks chapter, it takes place after Sakura leaves the school. I find his expression the most interesting compared to the others, there also a reason why We're focusing on his face. I'm not sure who his emotions are directed to, it could be Sakura but also Suo. If Suo really did tell him something, he might be connecting the dots here.

If he really did figure out what Suo meant/told him he might want to join Nirei and Momijikawa to tell Sakura not to give up on Suo and/or what Suo told him.

I do think that we'll see Sugishita's character growth next chapter. Nii-sensei definitely cooked with this trio. At this moment they're probably the best people to talk with Sakura and help him progress the situation (if he hasn't left on his own that is)

But yeah, those were a few of my thoughts. I would've loved to go more in depth but English isn't my first language and long rants like this can still be a bit tricky sometimes

and if suo's refusal to eat is actually about keeping himself starved, so that even as he's away from bkk-gai, he isn't disconnected from their ground reality (of scarcity, of making do, of sorrows shared) i'm actually going to throw myself through a window

suo denying himself love and community in makochi so that he can stay connected to the people of bkk-gai. saying no to what's right in front of you because you know too many people who are having to go without it right now. so why shouldn't you too?

i like this interpretation. i admit i am also thinking about Persephone partaking in food of the underworld thereby tying herself to it. suo refusing to eat in makochi lest he find himself unable to leave

this whole time, sakura doesn't even know that the reason suo dipped without saying anything to him (or even About him for that matter) is because he's the one thing that could crumble his resolve.

sweet little darling, i know it won't help with the pain right now but you weren't wrong to think you guys were connected heart to heart. suo himself felt it so strongly he had to pull the sharpest, most abrupt bandaid-ripoff the world has ever seen.

we all realize suo is likely one of the tallest in the class specifically to juxtapose it with what's going on now, right? we're not used to him looking so small because he's taller than pretty much the entire main cast in their class except tsuge and sugi. he sticks out in class when there's a shot of everyone together because of it.

another thing I've wondered about for a while. you think about this type of stuff a lot when rping cross-canon and trying to determine how characters would perceive each other.

he's portrayed as larger than life in furin, untouchable. protector and human shield.

now he looks like a little kid playing dress up, it's been a while since we've seen him with everyone but suo isn't exactly short, as the youngest in the class next to sakura. that, like most things in this series, feels very deliberate.

also also when he's interacting with sugi, sugi is frequently sitting with suo standing over him. which might not be intentional but will impact the viewer's perception of the scene.

"Aw, is Sakura-kun worried about me?", Suo is careful to make the words sound natural but he's tired. His brain feels a little like it's been run through a meat grinder and his legs are trembling very faintly, so it's not as convincing as he'd like it to be. Frustrated, he curses himself. This was a terrible idea, he should have never called. Suo briefly considers just hanging up, but knows Sakura would not let this go. "Yeah", Sakura seems to force the word out, "So?"

Suo wakes up from a nightmare and in a moment of weakness, decides to call Sakura.
