It makes me sick that everyone just disregarded the fact that Sirius is the tallest one.
They changed his appearance and character so that he fits into the stereotypical bottom twink shit. It genuinely enrages me. How do you turn someone with so many complexities and just dumb him down like that?
I've been a part of countless fandoms before, and not one of them had changed a character to this limit before. Disgusting.
Itâs so hard being someone who loves canon Sirius Black and going into the Sirius Black tag only to see posts about w*lfstar and j*gulus, along with the worst takes Iâve ever read in my entire life.
Honestly, with all due respect, a lot of you are a bit stupid, yes.
I am desperate for fics about Sirius being powerful. I want him to be Lord Black. I want him to be inexplicably smart and insanely magically gifted. I want him to ask for change and then make it happen if it isnât quick enough. I want him to have power over the Ministry or Magic. I want him to be an absolutely terrifying weapon on the battlefield. I want him to fight Dumbledore and win. I want him to be the kind of smart that seems impossible. I want him to tear down his entire family one-by-one and take over by force because he will not sit quietly anymore. I want him to be an absolute badass so fucking badly
Hi theree I would like to request a remus x reader with the flirty prompt. Where reader is friends with lily, and remmy and reader just sometimes end up hanging out in the same friend group by pure coincidence and they just casually flirt in a friendly way, but EVERYBODY wants these two to date because of the chemistry
Damn this was a lot, sorry hehe
Hi! â€ïž I love this idea. I went with a post-Hogwarts, coworker Lily vibe with a Halloween party bc tis the season. Reader is in a different year than the Marauders and it's implied older, but not explicitly said. Also pretty house-neutral although I feel like it makes more sense to not be Gryffindor. â€ïž Also, this so should've been a slowburn but alas, it isn't. Maybe I'll revisit this idea later?? â€ïž (I've given up on short.)
Hope y'all enjoy â€ïž â€ïž â€ïž

âAnd hereâs my address,â Lily said as she scribbled something down on a scrap piece of paper. âFancy dress is suggested but not required. Our friends like to do a lot, but we get itâs not for everyone. Um, it officially starts around 8 but feel free to arrive whenever. Merlin knows Jamesâ friends will be there at noon. Damn unemployed gits.â She smiled at you while pressing the paper into your hand. âPlease come? I promise itâll be a lot of fun.â
âIâll try, but no promises.â
âYouâll try? That means youâll be there!âÂ
Lily recently transferred into your department and you were assigned to train her. She was a quick study so you ended up chatting, mildly shocking each other that you had been at Hogwarts during the same time. You werenât in the same year, which apparently meant you didnât really cross paths.
You and Lily got along well and she was itching to drag you into her inner circle. You were hesitant about it. It wasnât that you thought Lilyâs friends were going to be horrible people. No. They were probably some of the most lovely people youâd ever meet. But they were all friends at Hogwarts, in the same year, most of them Gryffindors. You knew youâd feel out of place or like you were intruding if you went to their game nights or joined them at the bar.Â
You had a feeling you werenât getting out of this Halloween party though. Lily had said it was more than just their immediate friend group. She also laughed about them being roped into hosting since they were the only ones living in a larger house, as opposed to a flat, with their parents or small townhouses.Â
Now, a few days later, you stood outside the Pottersâ house. You felt stupid wearing all black and a simple pair of cat ears. You dressed up as a black cat â how original and creative. You decided to arrive exactly at 8. If Jamesâ friends had been there since noon, you assumed some of Lilyâs friends would have arrived some time later and everyone else, you included, would arrive closer to the start time.Â
You knocked on the front door before trying the doorknob. It was unlocked. Lily really meant âarrive wheneverâ apparently, since there were already a ton of people in the house. As you stepped into the entry way, you decided your first mission was to find Lily. You could at least let her know that you came and then it wouldnât matter how long you stayed. You scanned the first room to your right. No Lily but some of the faces in there looked vaguely familiar â familiar in the way you recognize faces in your dreams.Â
It didnât take you long to find Lily. She was standing with a group taking a picture. When she said her friends did a lot, she wasnât kidding. They had organized a group costume for Wizard of Oz. Lilyâs red hair was twisted in braids and she wore a blue gingham dress. She spotted you and pulled away from the Cowardly Lion whose arm was around her waist.
âYou made it! Oh my god!â she exclaimed, throwing her arms around you.
âTold you Iâd try.â
âOkay, so letâs introduce you to people!â she said as she took your hand to lead you toward the people she had been taking a picture with. âThe lion is James, my husband.â You nodded, giving him a small smile. âTinman is Sirius, Remus is Toto, Peter is the scarecrow, Dorcas is Glinda, the good witch, and Marlene is the Wicked Witch. And Mary is a little lamb.â
âRan out of good characters,â Mary said, holding out her hand to shake yours. She had been the one taking the picture.Â
âRan out of good characters?â the man dressed as a dog, Remus, scoffed. âIâm the pet!â
âAnd what would I be? A flying monkey?âÂ
âAlright, quick tour,â Lily said, taking your hand again.Â
She showed you where the bathrooms were, pointed out the snacks and drinks, and said names of people as you passed them. Random surnames rang a bell but you didnât really know any of these people. You had half a mind to stay glued to Lilyâs side for the night. It was a fairly anti-social move but what else were you going to do? Sit in a corner and hope someone struck a conversation with you when everyone else seemed to know everyone?Â
âLily!â a voice called from somewhere within the house.
âComing!â she yelled back. âYou good?â
âWha-âÂ
She gave you a huge smile and disappeared around a corner. You were not good. You didnât know anyone. At least she left you near the kitchen where the food and drinks were. You sighed.Â
You smirked at the punch labeled âWitchesâ Brewâ before ladelling some into a cup. Your eyebrows shot up after you took a sip; it certainly was an adult drink. A soft chuckle told you that you werenât the only one in the kitchen. In the corner next to an open window was one of Lilyâs friends, the one dressed as a dog. His name was escaping you. He blew smoke out the window when he saw he got your attention.Â
âDidnât know dogs smoked,â you said, walking closer to him and then leaning against the island.Â
âDidnât know cats drank.âÂ
âTouche.â You took a sip of your drink. âUm, sorry, which one of Lilyâs friends are you again?âÂ
âRemus. I was her co-prefect back in the day.â
You hummed, nodding. Remus took another drag of his cigarette as he looked you over.Â
âI feel like I know you,â he said.Â
I was in the castle same time as you,â you said with a shrug. âThatâs about all I got.â
He didnât look any more familiar to you than anyone else at the party. But he seemed friendly and was definitely attractive so you figured heâd be okay to hang by until Lily found you again.Â
âSo youâre Lilyâs friend from work.â
The way he said it made you quirk an eyebrow. The way he was looking at you felt like he did know you, or that he wanted to know you better? You werenât sure.Â
âYeah. Um, her new department.â
âRight, right.â He nodded. âI get why she talks about you so much.â
âSo much?â
You could assume Lily talked about you to some extent. You were probably her closest work friend and this wasnât the first event she invited you to. It made sense that she brought you up in some fashion. But so much?Â
âBut I donât think she did you justice.â
âWhat? She fail to mention my ears? Impeccable dress up skills?â you teased.Â
âHmm, she did not mention either of those,â he said. âShe did say that it wouldnât take long to feel like weâve known you forever. Youâve got this-â He gestured to the length of your body. â-aura. No other way to put it besides you just feel familiar, like you belong.â
âLike I belong,â you laughed. âI donât even know you.â
âI bet you want to though.â
âItâs that or I go home, Toto.â
After what felt like a few minutes of cheeky banter, you asked, âSo, do you just plan to sit in the kitchen all night?â
âI had planned to go check on Sirius and Peter⊠But I fear I need to keep my eye on you.â
âIs that so?â
âYouâve refilled your Witchesâ Brew three times and I watched Lily make it. You need supervision.â
You mock gasped. âYou donât know my tolerance!â
âThen prove that youâre fine.âÂ
Remus watched a determined expression take over your face as you pushed off from the island, wobbling slightly. You smirked at him and walked toward the kitchen door. Were you more drunk than tipsy? Maybe, but he didnât need to know that.
âComing?â you asked over your shoulder.Â
Remus put out the little bit of what was left of his cigarette and followed you. He had no intention of letting you out of his sight for the rest of the night. Lily would never forgive him if he let something bad happen to you at the party, after she had spent so long telling them to be nice to you.Â
You led Remus into the front room where people were playing beer pong. You were surprised to see Lily standing at the end with more cups still in the triangle position. You didnât recognize who she was playing against. It wasnât the lamb nor any Wizard of Oz character, just someone dressed as a devil. You stood off to the side of the room and Remus was right next to you.Â
âSheâs winning,â you said, nodding in Lilyâs direction.
âI can see that, love.âÂ
âThat means your eyeballs are for more than decoration! How lovely!â
Okay, maybe you were a lot more drunk than you had thought. Whatever left your mouth wasnât what youâd normally say. You wouldnât be so bold to compliment someoneâs eyes so soon after meeting them, nor would you phrase it like that. You wanted to drag your hand down your flushed face in embarrassment, but instead, you just beamed at Remus, whose ears were turning red.Â
âWhy would my eyes be for decoration?â he asked, leaning closer to your ear.Â
âJust say thank you and move on, Toto.â
Had you forgotten his name again? Possibly.Â
âThanks.âÂ
After Lily won the game, she saw you standing with Remus. She rushed over.
âDance?â
You barely nodded before she was dragging you off into another room. Remus followed, hands shoved into his pockets. Lily waved her hand at the speaker and the music playing turned a little louder. Soon enough, you were dancing with Lily and enough people that you didnât care how you looked. You couldnât even feel Remusâ eyes on you. And Remus would be lying if he said he was only watching you to make sure you didnât get into trouble. Really, he wouldnât be mad if you wanted to get into trouble with him, but he knew how strong Lilyâs punch was.Â
He almost forgot for a few minutes. He was so in his own head. But then you started walking toward him, one hand raised to gently rest on your chest.Â
âToilet?â you croaked.
Everything switched in Remus. This was part of why he was watching you. He put an arm around you and guided you to the nearest bathroom, glancing at every bin in case you werenât going to make it. But you did. Just barely, but you did. And Remus knelt down with you to hold your hair back.Â
You groaned into the toilet as you reached up to flush.Â
âIf you stick around for Christmas, go easy on Lilyâs mead," Remus said.
You groaned again.Â
Once you were cleaned up a little, Remus got you settled on a couch and went to get you a water. Then he sat next to you, propping one of his ankles up on his knee.Â
âYou can go have fun,â you said weakly. âI should be okay.â
âBelieve it or not, you are fun. And⊠Iâm not letting anyone give you any more brew.âÂ
You and Remus sat on the couch for the rest of the night, talking about nothing too deep or interesting. But all of his friends noticed. Remus would sometimes hang back or stick to leaning against the wall, rather than being in the middle of the room, so him sitting on the couch wasnât too eye-catching. It was you that changed the equation. Remus got up to get you another water and he came back with a small snack for you as well. He was leaning in and smiling the time you talked. All of his friends were positive that he was having a great time, and they could only hope you were too.Â
At some point as the night went on, you rested your head on his shoulder as you watched some people play Halloween-themed charades. Devils, angels, goblins, skeletons and other characters acted out phrases and words you could barely comprehend at the moment. You didnât realize when you got so sleepy. Your eyes were droopingâŠ
Remus didnât notice you fell asleep until almost everyone had left and James and Lily were more-or-less trying to clean up a little.Â
âMoony, have you seen my-oh!â Sirius said, walking into the room where you and Remus were. âComfortable?âÂ
âShe is, I think. What dâyou need?âÂ
âRight, keys?âÂ
âOn top of the fridge. Ask James to grab âem.â
âHa, ha. I can reach.â
âWait, Pads,â Remus said, realizing he couldnât sit there until morning like this, even if that did sound tempting. âCan you grab Lily?âÂ
âYeah. Oi! Evans!âÂ
Remus threw his head back. He didnât mean for Sirius to yell for her.
âIf Harry was here right nowâŠâ she muttered, appearing in the doorway. âOh, arenât you two cute.âÂ
âShould I wake her?â Remus asked. You were Lilyâs friend after all. He didnât know if you were staying the night or if she was kicking you out or what her plan was.Â
âUm, letâs lay her down⊠Let me help you.â
Lily slowly lifted your head from his shoulder and held you steady as Remus scooted away from you. Then she laid you down and Remus slid the throw pillow he had had under his arm under your head. You grumbled in your sleep as Lily placed a blanket over you.
âWhatâd you think of her? Lovely, isnât she?â Lily asked, seeing Remus look at you with emotion in his eyes.Â
âYeah.â
---
Despite feeling completely mortified, you were fine in the morning. You thoroughly thanked Lily and James for hosting and apparated home. By Monday, you were fully prepared to be unable to make eye contact with Lily and to apologize profusely for getting too drunk and falling asleep on Remus, and then ultimately spending the night.Â
Lily, however, had other plans.
âYou must come out with us this week. Less people, really small. Nothing big or stressful. Just this cocktail place.â She grinned at you. âI promise, their drinks arenât as strong as mine.â
âYeah, um, a little heavy handed, are you?âÂ
âBut you had fun, yeah?â
You nodded. It had been fun.Â
âWhatshisname⊠the dog. He was pretty cool.â
âRemus.â Lily somehow smiled larger. âIâll make sure to tell him you said he was cool.âÂ
âOkay, Lily.âÂ
âOr! You could tell him Wednesday?âÂ
âWednesday?â
âCocktails. Itâs like right after work so bring clothes. Weâll stop by mine real quick.â
You were about to protest, but Lily decided the conversation was over, heading over to her desk. And when Wednesday came, you had a duffel bag tucked under your desk with a change of clothes. You shouldâve protested more, put up more of a fight. You still could say you werenât feeling well by the end of the shift. But Lilyâs friends had been nice to you and you felt like you needed to apologize to Remus personally.
So, you took Lilyâs hand and the two of you apparated to her home. You changed in the bathroom you realized you puked in, and then you went into the kitchen to wait for Lily. James was in there.
âGot you hooked, doesnât she?â James asked with a certain awe in his voice.Â
You hummed a confused response.Â
âFirst our Halloween party? And now Wednesday Drinks? Thatâs two with seven days, and according to my math, that means Lilyâs got you hooked.â
âYeah, about Friday-â you started to say but James held up a hand to stop you.
âIf you apologize for falling asleep, Iâm obligated to buy you a shot. Iâm sure Lils has told you: itâs no big deal, itâs fine, we wouldâve woken you up if it was. And the more you try to apologize, the more drunk youâll get tonight and then youâll be on Couch Potter again.â His face lit up. âLily! I was just explaining our apology agreement!â
âYes, Iâve told her to stop. Darling doesnât listen!â she said as she stepped into the kitchen.
âI just feel really bad about it!â
âAnd thatâs one shot,â Lily laughed. âAlright, you two ready?â
The three of you apparated within a block of the lounge. James had his arm around Lily and you followed them. They were obviously regulars at this place by the wave the bartender greeted them by name when they walked through the door. He gave you a smile.Â
James and Lily led you to a half booth, half table. Faces you recognized as Tinman, Scarecrow, Wicked Witch and Glinda were already sitting there. Your mood fell slightly; you really needed to apologize to Remus. Lily slid into the booth and you slid in after her. James went to get drinks after asking what youâd like. When he comes back, he has not only drinks for the three of you but also a pair of shots.Â
âFor one attempted apology about Friday,â James said, putting one down in front of you.Â
You give him a clearly forced smile. You wait for him to be ready, then the two of you take the shots.
âMerlin forbid a girl feels bad about falling asleep on her new coworkerâs couch,â you said, before adding, âNot an apology! Just a⊠statement?âÂ
Lily laughed and nudged your shoulder. âSurely I count as a friend now.â
âI mean, Iâve slept on your couch.â
Mary arrived not long after. Conversation started flowing around you. You sipped your drink and commented here and there; you felt like you were intruding on the friend group a little. You didnât know any of them that well besides Lily and, well, Remus at this point. And he wasnât here. Your eyes kept darting to the door despite your best efforts.
âHeâll be here,â Lily whispered, having noticed.Â
You tried to play it off. âIâm not-â
âGive him a few minutes.â
You pressed your lips together and nodded. It didnât seem worth arguing about. And she ended up being right anyways. Not even five minutes passed and Remus was walking through the doors, waving hi to the bartender.Â
âAh, nice to see our new recruit here,â he said, sliding into the booth on your other side. âWhatâd I miss?âÂ
Marlene, across from you, gave him a brief recap and the conversation resumed. For a few minutes, it was like it was before Remus got there. You sipped and commented, not saying much, but also now not glancing at the door every few seconds. You felt hyper aware of Remusâ presence next to you. It was both comforting and unnerving? You didnât know what to make of it.Â
You leaned back against the cushioned back of the booth.Â
âHey, Remus?â you asked, voice lower as to not disrupt the rest of the table.
He hummed, turning his head so it was clear he was looking at only you.Â
âSorry for falling asleep on you⊠And for making you hold my hair back, on Friday,â you said, sounding more awkward than you ever had.Â
âYou made me do nothing. Donât worry about it.â He reached over to give your hand a quick reassuring squeeze. Well, he hoped it was reassuring. âI did feel bad leaving you on the couch. You looked comfortable.âÂ
You smiled. His assurance that you falling asleep was no big deal meant more to you than James and Lilyâs for some reason.Â
âYour shoulder was comfortable.â You patted his shoulder. âItâs a good shoulder.â
âItâs also good for crying on, if needed. Sleepingâs been proven. Itâs been used as support for standing up.âÂ
âLots of purposes for your shoulder.â
âNow, I do need to ask,â Remus said. âIs that your first drink? Or how many have you had? Should I be running for a bin?â
You rolled your eyes, making Remus smirk.
âHa ha. Iâve had one shot with James, and this is still my first cup.â
âAh, good good.â He paused. âShot with James? Howâd he get you so fast?âÂ
âApparently Iâm not allowed to apologize for FridayâŠâ
âOi! Potter!â Remus said, leaning over the table to see James a few people down. âWe had another apology over here!â
You gasped and glared at Remus.
âThe absolute betrayal!â
âThatâs another shot, sweetheart,â James said as he stood up and headed to the bar to get another two shots.Â
When he returned, you took your shots. Your body shivered involuntarily, and Remus put an arm around your shoulder.Â
âAw, sânot that cold in here.â
âIâm not cold. My body just does that sometimes.â You gestured to the empty shot glass. âAnd Iâm pretty sure that had something to do with it.â
Remus laughed, but he didnât take his arm away and you didnât mind it.Â
âSo, why were you late?â you asked curiously.Â
âThereâs this apothecary I like, but they got the wildest hours so I got to go when theyâre open or I miss âem completely.â
âThey sell special stuff or something?âÂ
Remus went on to vaguely describe Wolfsbane without giving away his condition to you. The new potion was hard to come by and expensive if you couldnât brew it yourself. You mentioned that you werenât too bad at Potions during Hogwarts, getting into Slughornâs N.E.W.T. level classes. Then the two of you started reminiscing on Slughornâs antics and that turned into other teachers and various memories.Â
That was not the conversation of the rest of the table.
âOi, something blooming here?â Marlene asked, eyes flicking between you and Remus as she interrupted you.
You both looked up like deer caught in headlights.
âMeaning?â you asked.Â
âJusâ saying, Lupin hogged you on Friday, and now heâs hogginâ you again!âÂ
âIâm not hogging her!â Remus said. âAm I?â he added, looking at you.
âI-I donât think so? Weâre just talking?âÂ
âHaving your own little conversation. What were we talking about?â Lily asked with a finger pointing around the table. She had already picked up on what Marlene saw.Â
âUhâŠâ You had no clue.Â
âSo, Friday, you two go out, so next week, we can get to know her a little bit more, yeah?â Marlene said. âLily goes through all this work to get her here and she only talks to you. Sânot fair.âÂ
You and Remus were beet red.Â
âExcuse me,â you said, nudging Remus to let you out of the booth.Â
You headed straight for the loo. You splashed your face with water from the sink. You had taken a liking to Remus so far, but it wasnât like any of them really put that much of an effort to get to know you on Friday. And that was a party.Â
But maybe Marlene was right? You didnât know. What you did know was that you didnât need her calling you two out in front of the whole group.Â
When you exited the loo, you saw that Remus wasnât at the table anymore. You scanned the lounge for him, but there was no sign of him. You lingered by the bar, debating if you wanted to grab another drink before going to sit down.
âHeâs having a smoke,â the bartender said, not looking up front the glass he was polishing. âLupin.â
You looked over your shoulder to see that he was right. Remus was standing just outside the door.
âUm, thanks,â you said awkwardly and walked outside. âHey.â
Remus jumped slightly at your voice, but then he seemed to relax. âHey,â he said, exhaling smoke.
You laughed to yourself, feeling semi-self-conscious.Â
âThis isnât going to help them saying youâre hogging me.â
âIâm not hogging. Youâve come to me.â
âAnd none of them were holding my hair back at the party. Thanks, again, for that.â
âLucky that wasnât an apology. Iâd hate for James to owe you another shot.âÂ
You groaned through a smile.
âSo what do you want to do?â Remus asked.
âGo inside? Kind of cold out here,â you said.
âNo, um, I meant on Friday.â He chuckled and nervously cracked his knuckles. âOr Saturday or Sunday if one of those works better for you? My weekendâs pretty open.â
âOh! Um, like just me and you? No Lily? Or anyone?â
âIf you want. Merlin, I didnât think⊠Duh, I shouldâve asked that first. I just thought if Lily and Marlene thought-â
âNo! Thatâd be nice, I think. And no matter how it goes, I sit between others, if I come next week.â
âWhat? Youâre not having fun?â He sounded genuinely concerned.
âI mean, itâs good. I donât know. A lot can happen in a week.â
âIâll have to get on Lily. Now that youâve come to Wednesday Drinks, youâre basically a part of the group. Thereâs no escaping us now.â He put out his cigarette. âYou got a phone? Iâll put my number in it before we go inside.â
