Cycle of Daisies, 11 July, 2022
Daisy dear basking in sunshine,
Twixt fertile earth and clear sky.
Surrounded by others of its kind
Worrying not, just passing time.
Soft to the touch, brightly colored,
Scented sweetly, it's no wonder
That the daisy in its finest hour
Is to many their favorite flower.
Drowned by rain falling heavily,
Trampled under the foot of the unwary,
Burned by fire without mercy.
The daisy, slaughtered tragically.
Gone the beauty it once had,
Saddened those it once made glad.
Helpless we, against death's hand.
Returned to Earth and in darkness clad.
Yet watch the grave and you will see
The death of the daisy's legacy
Thwarted by the birth of posterity
Risen again from but a seed.
Once more doth the daisy grow
Toward the sky from dark below.
See it blossom, see it glow.
Happiness once more we know.
Even though today bears sorrow
Bliss awaits us each tomorrow.
Hope now, and let joy follow.
Daisies we, my dear fellow.
Though we may be torn asunder
Or witness the doom of another
Steady on! Do not waver.
Remember always the daisy flower.
