The fact that most of the drivers, including Charles, say Kimi is the youngest pisses me off! Kimi is babied consistently and given so much privilege and leeway just for being a white, handsome, Italian "boy"! Meanwhile, Arvid is ignored even though he’s been performing beautifully as a rookie with a sister team. The only reason he isnt getting half the recognition Kimi got in his rookie season with Mercedes (top team) is pure RACISM, and that same double standard always happens to POC drivers on the grid.

My (many) thoughts and comments on Grill the Grid episode 3:

Not even 20 second in and Arvid asking "is Brasil in the Southern Hemisphere?" had me pausing, sitting up, and beggin pacing in my room. This men do not know BASIC GEOGRAPHY (no I haven't watched that recent F3 and F2 video about geography cause I know would be pausing every 5 second and get incredibly pissed at what is, essentially, nothing)

Ok and now I'm pissed AGAIN cause everyone forgot about Arvid being the youngest this year T-T but okaaay I can get it cause this filmed in the beggining of the year

Everyone picking Fernando for the 400+ races starts reminded me of that gtg episode where they had to sort drivers by height and everyone just put Yuki first cause it was the easiest one

Gabi reffering to Nico as Hulkenberg 😔

Isack calling Liam "my guy", cute

"subbed in for a sick driver" and "has won 24h of lemans" had everyone wondering where the f to put Nico

I always judge ferrari fans a little for endlessly discussing the emotional torture of Charles when the team chews up and spits out its female academy drivers with such callous disregard and they say nothing.

Perhaps now is a good time to remind everyone that there's a brilliant championship charge going on currently in f1a. I've seen a lot of blogs who don't really go near WIM stuff engaging with the Maya situation (generally positive). Now is perhaps the time to get involved.

The racing is getting better every year, and the next race is in a couple weeks at Zandvoort. Another plus is it's free!!! You can watch here on youtube. The first three races of the season have been excellent, and well worth a watch if you need to catch up. With Alisha stomping her own winning margins record in Montreal, or the young wild card Chiara taking pole in Silverstone and becoming the first wild card to reach the podium. It's been a season to watch and we have three more races to come.

Nico completely forgeting his fellow conuntryman and mentioning Gabi and Isack for numbers 5 and 6

I have many thoughts. Here they are, happy reading

I voted "not likeable" but i regret my vote cause what I meant was more like "not popular". This plays a big part I think, because look at any popular F1 ship and it's always involves at least one well known driver (lesstappen, landoscar, brocedes, russtappen, etc...). Neither Nico nor Gabi have big fan bases, so people are likely to not be aware of them in general, much less as a duo. I remember when the Hyatt add droped and I saw many comments saying stuff like "when did this happen" "new ship droped" "wasn't aware this was happening" etc... and I was staring at my screen wondering how did people not know since one of their very first video back in Sauber was the "such a small neck" one. So yeah, majority of people just don't know them. This can also be grouped with Audi being a midfielder; these past few races since they got back to back points they're begging to get more attention, but in general the team is not talked about much, and neither was Sauber previously.

I think the age gap plays a part as well. More than people being freaked out or finding it controversial, I think general audiences see them as father & son, nephew & the cool uncle, or even brothers. Which if you actually look at their interactions it's nothing like that xD.

Now the last reason I think helps make them not as popular is how recent it is, lack of history between them, and little to no angst/conflict. All the ships i named in the beggining, and other popular ones, either have history (they met when they were children, have been friends for a long time, etc...) or a big reason for conflict between them (most of the time, the wdc fight), it's naturally what atracts fans to create stories between the drivers. Gabico doesn´t have either, they met in late 2024/early 2025 when they became teammates, and they became friends right away, right now they are only working as a team to improve Audi and have nothing to fight each other about.

I think their lack of popularity is a mix of all these, but I think they will slowly gain more popularity
