emmeline took the lighter from the other as her lips quirked into a smirk. “is that it? i’m sure you can give a better dare than that.” she fiddled with the lighter before opening the top and pressed down the switch thing that caused a small flame to alight.

“NO PROBLEMS, think of one better. I’ll do it.” They had been playing this game for a while now, just throwing around hypothetical dares. Those kept getting bigger and dangerous, but they were just words. Fabian watched Emmeline play with his lighter, already cooking another idea in his head.

“OH I KNOW the difference between those two. I was just looking at your...you. Aren’t you a little too young for champagne, missy?” When it doubt, flaunt it out. And Fabian stood a little taller, chest puffed. “As a Prefect, I probably should take that glass from you before you get in trouble.”

marlene grabbed the lighter from fabian. a dare was something she would never back down from and she knew that her quidditch mate would know that. if the entire room blows up, just know that this was not her fault. “ you want me to burn the christmas tree down? i mean, i’m not saying i won’t do it but i’m sure someone is going to be a little disappointed here. ”

“SPIRIT OF THE OCCASION, captain. You know what this means.” Fabian wanted to see if she’d actually go that far. Marlene was ballsy, but how ballsy could one really get? If it were up to Fabian, he’d probably back out. Or charm the tree and make it flame-retardant. He’d have to see what was safer; after all, Fabian was only reckless, not a maniac. “Well...I guess we shouldn’t set the whole tree on fire?”

FABIAN ROLLED HIS eyes at the girl, disgruntled but not phased as he bent down to pick up his lighter. “Well, clearly, you’re not into watching things burn. Besides, whatever you’re drinking, doesn’t look all too flammable. What is it, fruit punch?” He added a smirk for extra effect, looking back at her. “Chicken.”

“i mean, why not?” amos shrugged, turning the fireworks package over once again in his hands. he was familiar with the trick, of course. it was the kind of enchanted fireworks he used to light off in his yard back at home, the kind that couldn’t physically hurt anyone but would ricochet around the room for quite a while. it helped that the room of requirement looked like an outdoor setting, so it wouldn’t frighten anyone too badly– just give a good show. and if nobody got hurt, amos was all for it. “in the holiday spirit.” he agreed, and took the lighter from fabian’s hand, flicking it to light up the end of the firework before giving it a toss into an open area.

“FINALLY, SOMEONE GETS the agenda. Merlin’s beard, I was just about ready to throw the towel in, dude. Like, what fun is a party without the pyromania, huh?” Fabian didn’t really need a lighter to light the end of the fireworks up, but it added a certain dramatic flair that he was all about. Still, he used his wand to ignite the end of the end of his firework, watching it take off into the crowd. “Man, these things? Absolutely gorgeous. I wonder if they could be brighter though. Or I dunno...better even?”

hestia’s eyes widened as she heard fabian’s voice speak such dangerous words to someone she could only assume was a considerably intoxicated younger student. luckily she was there to save the day. “actually, no, no he doesn’t,” she stepped in between the two, snapping the lighter right off her friend’s fingers before the stranger had a chance to even think the offer over. “what are you doing?” she questioned fabian once the other had left.

“WELL, I WAS SHOWING them what a good time looked like. And it’s just a little bit of dragonweed, Hestia. It’s not gonna kill anyone.” Fabian pursed his lips when his partner shooed the kid away. It wasn’t like Fabian was going to give that kid a whole smoke anyway, but he wasn’t going to get into that. “So, now I have a joint and no one to smoke it with. Jojn me, Jones. Let’s get peaced out.”
