saorxsa:
THEIR whispering really starting to grate on his nerves ━ not to mention how often girls would stop him in the hallways to either ask for an autograph or his number, whichever one he was willing to part with ━ Zihao decided against grabbing lunch in the cafeteria on impulse and ━ ignoring their obnoxious attempts at gaining his attention ━ exited the building, steadily making his way toward the basketball court. Very few girls ventured there during lunch, and those who did were too busy ogling the basketball players to pay any heed to the comings and goings of other students. Hopefully that would apply to him as well.
WHEN he reached his destination, however, he came to a hesitant stop, dark brown gaze locked on the familiar silhouette of his stepbrother. F U C K. He’d hoped he wouldn’t run into him at school ━ the fact that their classes were held in separate rooms had helped him maintain distance between them. He rarely saw him at home too, considering how late Zihao would either stay out for work or play, sometimes both. But none of that mattered now, not since Luoyang had chosen a bench seat well within sight, his hunched form bringing a scowl to Zihao’s lips. A light sheen of sweat glistened on his stepbrother’s smooth, fair skin ━ skin he’d often envisioned licking and sucking in his dreams, leaving a trail of moisture in the wake of his arousal. Double fuck. 〝 YOU’RE A REAL PAIN IN THE ASS ━ YOU KNOW THAT? 〞For having the audacity to make him want him like this. Instant fucking attraction from the moment he’d first laid eyes on the boy. And worst yet ━ he couldn’t even begin to tell you why he was so damn attracted to him. It is what it is━ and it fucking sucks.
─ ━ luoyang gives an involuntary wince at the sudden intrusion, recognizing the low, masculine voice as belonging to his famous stepbrother ━ the one he hasn’t seen in weeks. he considers ignoring it, but judging from the other boy’s irritable tone, zihao probably won’t let him get away with pretending ignorance. “but … i’m not doing anything?” he mumbles, a hint of confusion in his voice, as he leans down to retrieve the homemade bento lunch box at his feet. “i just want to eat my lunch in peace.” keeping his gaze on the current task-at-hand, he opens the wooden box with deliberate slowness, hoping that by the time he sets the lid aside, zihao would have gotten the message and left him to his own devices. actually ━ that’s one of the reasons why he chose a bench so far from the cafeteria. hearing everyone gabbing about how cool zihao is, how amazing his voice is, and how good he looks in the school’s uniform ━ it’s enough to turn his stomach. not a single one of them have any insight into the true depth of his character, and they don’t seem to care that their admiration and adoration of him is a shallow extension of this thing they like to call love. the only positive he can manage to scrounge up in this sea of make-believe and fantasy is the fact that no one has yet made the connection between them ━ as in, found out that he’s technically related to the big-shot on campus ━ and he would very much like to keep it that way.
─ ━ “i-is there anything else?” luoyang asks, hinting at his desire to be left alone. but then he goes one step further by reaching for a piece of orange chicken with his chopsticks, intent only on enjoying his meal rather than paying the other boy any kind of attention, especially the kind of attention he wants or thinks he deserves.
