[pulled out of my drafts as a WIP because it's the funny starwars date]

the groupchat was talking about AUs recently and it got me thinking i haven't actually set out the big three variants of my eternal alliance.

1: "canon"

knitting together all the mains and patching up the in-game events around them. kj'ell is the commander, heavily advised by the alliance intelligence division (housing ulleinhe, ceekay, etc.), with "neutral" parties like attalune and shiskel's crew signed on, and a conditional relationship with the jedi and republic folk (se'laai, winter, havoc squad, etc.). follows the plot's broad strokes with a few rewrites for peoples' personalities, some branching side-stories, and a couple "vette and torian both live" style bits in the course of carving up my favourite versions of each playthrough.

2: faction swap

technically part of my "no funny business" playthrough, sticking 100% to the in-game choices with the most appropriate protagonist, a lana-romancing jedi knight commander. offscreen she gets an alliance populated with What If versions of the main cast. sith!se'laai and jedi!kj'ell semi-follow the inquisitor and consular campaigns, but also get to interact with some of their original companions (they're also the only playable ones), SIS agent ulleinhe and republic mercenary attalune etc. are full rewrites. more of an excuse for characters to bounce off each other than an in-depth Retelling.

3: arcann wins (?)

the way-too-in-depth one— splits off at the beginning of kotfe with "what was arcann's plan, anyway?". outlander!kj'ell is intentionally thawed out instead of getting an early rescue, escapes the eternal empire, and is scooped up by an underground alliance already accelerating resistance around the galaxy. se'laai is the ostensible commander of this one but leadership is less centralised— more spread out among the affected factions. contains: vaylin machinations, arcann but worse, outlet for all my actual-rebel-alliance dreams, major character the gravestone, making everything weirder between everyone
