Superman vs batman only works if 1. They're friends 2. Neither is technically in the wrong.
-bruce makes kyrptonite. Hes seen the raw power of superman and he worries that if he were to turn, there would be no stopping, so green rock.Bruce: the alien could be dangerous. There sound be back up plans.Hes not wrong. Clark could be dangerous if mind controlled or corrupted.-one misson clark gets messed up, disorentated, and not in his right mind. Bruce uses the kyrptonite before anything can go wrong. Clark passed out, battle ends shortly afterSets plot in motion.-he wakes the next day, his body feeling wrong. He tells bruce he thinks the villian they were fighting had kyrptonite. Bruce confesses it was actual him who tapped clark out of the battleBoom first conflict- clark tries to ask why he had it, why he used it, how much he has. He tries to get answers, understand, but bruce deflects, and fear gives way. He feels betrayed, his best friend made something to harm HIM and now refuses to answer questions about it.Clark: my BEST FRIEND made something that could hurt me and didnt even tell me, or ask. Thats a huge breach of trust. He refuses to tell me anything about it, does that mean he was hiding it from me?-one night, hes so desperate for answers he flies to bruces house, grabbing him and flying them both into the air for a talk. -bruce grabs the kyrptonite from his utility belt. Not to hurt, but to weaken clark just enough to get away. This sets the b vs s in motion. Both now believe the other wants to hurt them.Bruce: I made a back up plan. He cornered me somewhere I would be weak. Not to mention he showed up at my house. Huge boundary broken.Clark: I just wanted to talk about what hed done... and he used it. Is that how he really feels about me? That I'm a danger and cant be trusted. I justed wanted to talk abd he... he pulled a weapon on me.
Heres the thing, neither does anything wrong. Both can justify their actions. But because of the difference in morals and personality each views the others actions as a threat
Ether way, both are completely valid in their reasons and decions. Clark is superpowered and could be dangerous if he wasn't in right mind or turnedSo bruce is right. Bruce breached trust, creating a weapon that could KILL his bestfriend without even telling him. So clark is right. Both are right in what they do in the jla head quarters. Knowing about plans makes then ineffective. His supply, his reasons, where he keeps them, how much. All of that is ether obvious or highly confidential.so bruce is right. however its not as obvious as he thinks is it. Bruce just confessed to using kyrptonite, the one thing that can KILL clark. He's spiraling and getting no answers. He just used a weapon made for HIM and now he refuses to answer anything. Does that mean he doesn't trust clark? Doesn't like him? If so... is theyre whole friendship built on lies? Both are right to have done what they did in the airClark ambushed bruce, flying him into the air. He invaded bruces HOME to get him, huge boundary so carelessly crossed. So bruce is right. Bruce, without even hearing him out, moved to the worst posible conclusion, that superman wanted to hurt him and attacked. So clark is right.Neither do anything wrong. Just like chemicles arent dangerous on their own, but mixed make a violent reaction.
You have the whole build up, small choices that make sense to each character but seem threatening to another. Bruce usinh kryptonite to stop clark while not in his right mind. Bruce avoiding answering questions about the kryptonite. Clark flying bruce into the sky, bruce attacking clark with kryptonite to get away.
Clark doesnt usually get agreesive, until you start treating people HE loves. Kara shows up on earth. She has a bunch of off wod animals, drinks, etc. Shes flying through gotham, and bruce, not knowing who she is, jumps to conclusions shes some nee villian, maybe a black market dealing (all the stuff) and starts fighting with her. Shes a lot stronger than he expects, and so he quickly starts using more extreme ways of taking her down. Clark, with his superhearing, can hear her being harmed, can sense her heartbeat, and quickly comes to her rescue, only to find bruce. boom, bruce has unknowingly threatened someone clark loves. Hes crossed a line. And now, yet again, clark is in bruces territory, and this time around he looks angry and hostile. Boom big fight.
I like the idea both men are fighting brutally, and eventually are bleeding out, kryptonite poisoning, or cracked ribs. Kara flies back down, next to clark. Shes fine. (Shes half drunk and threw the first punch at bruce ether way) and she points at batman and goes "is this one of the villians you told me about?" And clark goes "no, thats batman" in confusion. This in turn confuses kara "what?". Clark corrects "he's a hero". And kara asks the question that makes both of them realize how silly they are "then why are you fighting? You both want the same things" and clark freezes. Bruce, who is laying on the ground fighting the pain of a cracked rib looks up, and at clark. He too, understands the heart of what kara is saying. Both men, now realizing how stupid this is freeze, and then slowly laugh at their own stupidity. Their ribs hurt, their faces are bruised, but they laugh anyway. (Bonus points if kara is stil half drunk).
kara started the fight with batman. Shes drunk and overconfident. While the boys are fighting she just watches, and afterwards when they've beaten each other to pulps and are laying on the ground broken, bleeding, and bruised, riddled with pain. She flies down, stumblinging over her own feet. She asks, not to prove a point but because shes DRUNK and so consufused as to who the cat dude is. Clark corrects her, not with patience at first (he has kyrptonite poisoning and feels like his body is failing him) so he responds cold, harsh, and quick "no thats batman. Hes a hero" its said quickly, like a parent might correct a child who keeps asking why. It isnt until the "your both want the same things" he stops replying short and annoyed. And even after, bruce stands up, clark stands up. They laugh at their own stupidity. Kara goes to vomit beer in a dumster.
I did this because I don't want it to feel out of character for anyone. Clark isnt normally agreesive, so b vs s doesnt work unless he misunderstands or thinks someone he loves is beinh threatened. Bruce isnt confrontational. He preps and plans, so if hes questions for doing so, he would have his own feelings for that. Kara isnt perfect, she goes off to other planets and gets drunk. Whats stopping her from coming back and starting a fight with the batman? I liked this ending more than the other ones because it really does show the stupidity of their fight. At their roots, even with their differences, they're just two men who wish to spread hope.
I'm sorry. That was long. I hopes you liked it though. Also I wrote the ending dialog and what not for this. Might post it 🤔.
