🎉FUNNY book recommendations please! 🎉

So I, like I'm sure many of you out there, have been in a fanfiction spiral for months now. Hollanov has completely taken over my brain and I haven't laughed this much over books in a long time.

But I need to start reading some more regular books too.

Please can I have anyone's recommendations for books that give them the same level of hysterics that FF gives. Laugh out loud funny, I want to be crying laughing. Doesn't just have to be romance, although I won't say no to romance. Just some good comedy, please! I just need a good laugh right now.

because I sometimes like to treat this a bit like a personal diary...

Playing a fun game today where I'm wondering if my lack of appetite is just because I'm on wegovy (have been for a few months, low dose though) or is the ongoing stress finally coming through and taking my appetite again thing...

10 years ago I had the anxiety killed my appetite thing and I could barely eat for maybe a year or so. I mean, like 2 bites of food and that's all I could manage. Anxiety made it physically impossible for me to eat even if I wanted to. Lost a fair amount of weight. Work related mainly.

Aaand I've decided to go up a dose this weekend. Gonna have to watch this.

I wish they had something like the meetup app to meet friends in your local area but for fandoms. I don't know maybe it does exist. I'm not just meaning online stuff, I mean in person meet up.

You can put in your favourite show fandoms. Favourite ships. Maybe even go down to tropes etc. Age too of course.

I'd love to know if anyone in my area was into fandom like I am. I really would.

I hope that somehow Hudson Williams and Dylan OBrien both know when they're filming together that their two iconic characters Shane and Stiles both share the same number for their respective teams.

I don't know it just gives me feelings.

we used to get christmas episodes of television. halloween episodes. valentines. we used to get television that felt like part of your life. like it was happening alongside your life. now we mostly get 8 episodes dropping all at once every two years and they don't have time for any of that. i miss characters living alongside us

So the Heated Rivalry fandom is never letting me go

So alongside the seemingly endless content of Connor and Hudson being everywhere at the moment, even when I'm not trying to look for them I keep finding them. 🤣

The other week, I found out that Darren Criss, who I know back from Glee, is in Hazbin Hotel. So I googled him to see who he voiced. His instagram pops up on the google search with the latest pic and guess who he's in a picture with? Hudson Williams.

Then on Saturday, I was looking up places to have a girls night out with some friends in Kings Cross. Found a nice place with cocktails etc, look up what's going on in the area and THAT NIGHT they had one of those Hollanov tribute nights.

I swear, I'm not even trying and they just keep popping up 🤣🤣

And of course.. Bridgerton and 'Our Cottage'

Let's not even get into the random actors who keep mentioning them or the fact loads of the YouTubers I already follow and watch talking about the books / tv show too.

This fandom is keeping me well fed, I can tell you that.

and it has just hit me like a freight train how devastating that specific wording will sound, when a certain shane is desperate to contact his boyfriend during a certain event in the long game (season 2).

But I think Scott does, his actions are what shape so much of what's to come. He haunts the narrative like a ghost.

Ilya is the poltergeist that pops up, causes chaos and leaves cackling.

So tell me... what have I missed? How has fandom evolved since I was last in it deep? Would love to know how things have changed... Have fallen hard and fast again for Hollanov haha

The fact that Jane needs to cut Michael completely out of her life in order to be with Rafael truly says it all. Jane must say a permanent goodbye to someone she still cares deeply about even if she no longer loves him romantically, and Michael must be cut off not only from her, but from her father and the rest of her family, all because Rafael’s jealous, toxic ass couldn’t handle it if Michael stayed a part of their life. The red flags here are truly glaring.

When Michael married Jane, he had to accept (rightfully so) that Rafael, as Mateo’s father, was always going to be in the picture. Michael did so, unquestioningly, and even made an effort to be friends with Rafael and reconcile with him despite their differences. When Rafael marries Jane, it’s after being completely unable to accept even her friendship with her ex-husband. Like, I know there’s no kid holding Jane and Michael together, but being that he is her ex-husband who was separated from her under unfortunate circumstances outside of their control, he basically holds the same standing in my book. The difference in their responses to and acceptance (or lack thereof) of the Important Other Man™️ in Jane’s life highlights why Rafael will always remain the inferior (and in my opinion, toxic) choice.

had the sweetest moment this weekend with my 18-month-old baby cousin. my aunt and uncle were kicking a tennis ball back and forth and encouraging him to play. I was, as always, silently watching from my wheelchair (I’m not much for athletics anyway lol). he pointed at me while my aunt was holding him. she put him down and my uncle kicked the ball to him. instead of kicking it right back like earlier in the day, he picked up the ball and carried it to me, placing it down very emphatically in front of me. I was worried and anxious that he’d get frustrated when I didn’t kick the ball and become upset because I “refused” to kick it and he obviously wouldn’t understand why. I looked at him for a split second apologetically, expecting him to start fussing or cry when I wouldn’t do what I thought he was asking. but suddenly, he just got behind the ball so that he was in front of me and kicked the ball to my uncle on my behalf.

I teared up. he wasn’t demanding I kick the ball - he was putting it down dramatically to make sure I’d be watching and so I’d know he was helping me with my “turn.” at 18 months old, he not only noticed I was being excluded on his own, but actively brainstormed ways to include me with zero prompting from adults. It was the sweetest and most empathetic gesture towards me in months. I love him so much. my heart is melting.
