More pics from our long weekend in Amsterdam
#Amsterdam, Holland August 2015 where we met up with Britt and Helen, the lovely ladies that we initially met in #Vietnam
Our final night in Yallingup. We had to change accommodation as Chandlers were unable to extend our stay as they were fully booked over the Easter so we headed East to Island Brooke Estate, a winery on the outskirts of Margaret River where we would be spending the night in one of their cottages in the woods. The cottages are named after grape varieties so we were staying on Chardonnay, a 2 bed cottage with a spa bath and lots of outdoor space to look out for and listen to wildlife......whilst Tom was playing with his camera a fox came trotting right up to him startling him. This place is great place to kick back and relax. We wish we could stay longer! Needles to say the last picture of Tom Was reflective of our mood this morning when we had to check out and head back to Perth. It's been a great week away, we've enjoyed every second of this trip and have fallen in love with the beautiful south west all over again! Happy Easter xxo
Pictures taken around Yallingup, smiths beach and Margaret River
A few snaps from our mini holiday down in Yallingup. Were staying in a self catering cottage by smiths beach where we can see the ocean from our balcony. On our first night we sat with a glass of red, gazing out to the sea when suddenly a couple of Roos came bouncing by - such a cute sight! Were having a wonderful time eating lots of yummy food including fresh baked Breads from the local bakery and drinking lots of lovely wines from the local vineyards Happy holidays
The night noodle market, Perth
More beautiful sunsets over the Indian Ocean, this time taken from bathers beach in Fremantle
A beautiful sunset tonight watched at Mosman beach- Fremantle.
Sunrise and Sunsets over Perth - favourite parts of the day and we're lucky enough to be able to watch these sunsets from our front garden while Tom catches the sunrise over the Swan River on his commute into work. Beautiful
Some pics of our Valentines engagement celebrations - we celebrated with a delicious dinner at the Old Crow followed by a few drinks around various bars in Northbridge where the Fringe Festival is taking place.
Have you ever tried a Tabasco margarita? Wow - spicy!
Mandurah Foreshore and Leighton Bay
Rooftop movies, northbridge. Basically an outdoor cinema on a car park roof with cracking views of the city (and sunset). We watched Birdman, more for TomTom than me (perhaps why I fell asleep during the movie oooops). The ambience of this place is great - there are lots of empty caravans at the back of the car park that double up as tuck shops, bars and even a pizzeria yum! We got ourselves comfortable on the beanbags and scoffed pizza and peanut m&ms and set up camp for the night. We were lucky enough to win 2 free tickets to go again (I'll choose the movie next time) from an Instagram photo competition - my last picture in this set was chosen as a winning picture - lucky us!
The giants came to Perth! This event took place in the city across Valentines weekend to kick off the International Arts Festival - pretty amazing!
Some pics taken from kings park with views over the city and the river swan. Plus a sunset pic from our garden. Beautiful isn't it!
Birthday celebrations. Celebrating turning 31 in the same place as I was on the exact same day last year but we have been to so many new countries in between and shared some amazing experiences. Here's to 31 being another fun filled year of travels and adventures!
Pictures from Rottnest island continued.
A day trip to the beautiful Rottnest Island or Rotto as it's locally known (the Aussies like to shorten most words and put an 'o' at the end. We took a ferry from Fremantle, a 30 minute direct journey which drops you off at Thompson Bay on the island. I wasn't sure what to expect as a few locals we have chatted to had mentioned it's a lovely island but has become a tourist trap over the years with ferry prices and the cost of push bikes trebling. Admittedly the ferries were packed out with it being a saturday during peak season. However, as soon as we walked away from the harbour and the nearby beaches, it was clear we had arrived on a beautiful island. The no car policy on the island was a welcome break and despite wanting to rent push bikes, we decided to explore the island on foot. We visited several beaches during the day with Catherine Bay being my personal favourite closely followed by Longreach bay which is nestle in a cove looking out to the light house. As we wandered around the island we saw lots of quokkas which look a little bit like a really small wallaby. Sociable little things! We would have liked to have stayed on the island for a few nights but every where was booked up so we will be planning a return visit. Some advice to those visiting Rottenest island. Take seasickness tablets because the ferry rides are VERY choppy!
