Money may not be able to buy happiness but it sure as hell can put up walls between you and unhappiness.
Car breaks with no money=unhappy Car breaks with money=slightly unhappy with a rental car for 2 weeks while your insurance company takes your car for repairs.
Absolutely. But if you have to choose between riches and happiness, choose happiness.
I don't equate richness with money to sustain a comfortable life. That's just living within a reasonable cost. Which wages need to reflect.
Being "rich" is having far more money than is needed to survive and no, it should not come before your mental wellbeing.
