Hi there! This blog follows back from @paracawsal.
I’m deeply, deeply devoted and very close to An Mórrígan. There are other gods that I follow (Brigid, An Dagda, etc.) but she’s been my main focus the past (nearly) 12 years. I use godspouse because it’s easier.
This blog is mostly devotional posting, along with some druidry and magic things that are relevant to my interests.
18+ blog: @eden-arcadia
I’d like to keep this blog 18+ as well. There may not be anything explicit, but I will talk about sex and heavy topics sometimes and do post nudity and (simulated) gore from time to time.
Late 30s. Nb but she/her is fine lol

I really haven’t felt like talking about our relationship on here recently since honestly- it’s personal to us.
Having a local pagan community has made me want to share online less, and I also like being able to confide in Her and I want to do the same for Her. I know she doesn’t mind me talking about it but also I’m very much a Scorpio and like to keep things private and between people in my life I trust.
I’m not deleting this blog or anything, just so you know. Just probably changing it up a little.
“The Morrigan is arguably best known for her warrior form, and for good reason. In many of the Morrigan's most famous myths, the sisters play crucial roles in winning battles. They strategize with heroes, summon exhausted kings to rise, and attack with magick. They bring about victory when it seems impossible.”

===========================
Religious sex is what usually happens in my godspousing relationship. It's quite different from romantic sex.
That probably sounds odd so I'll explain.
This is just my experience. Others may have different experiences.
Religious sex is not about whether the god's spirit form appears attractive by human standards. Often the particular way a deity or spirit presents themselves isn't attractive at all to me. That's irrelevant to the spiritual purpose however.
Religious sex doesn't happen due to a lack of self-control. I'm very capable of restraining my libido, including adhering to periods of enforced abstinence for spiritual reasons, when requested by a deity.
Religious sex isn't romantic, in my case. Often a feeling of being loved or desired isn't part of it at all.
What is religious sex then?
From my experience, it's deliberately choosing to behave sexually with a deity or spirit at their request, to accomplish something spiritual.
That could be...
entwining with a god's energy, to gain more understanding of their nature or to better understand one of their aspects
bodily experiencing a spiritual object lesson the god chooses to deliver through a sexual metaphor, so that spiritual knowledge becomes a visceral part of who one is. It's hard not to know something that you're inescapably living through, because it's happening to your body.
offering access to an deep part of one's soul, that might only open to a god or spirit during a vulnerable act like sex
sex magic initiated by the god, to accomplish a spiritual purpose. This can be to achieve some type of inner transformation, to complete some kinds of spiritual initiations, or for other ritual purposes.
None of the above is about romance or feeling desired.
It's not about the hotness or sexiness of the god.
Not about orgasms or pleasure, though those are often side effects.
It's not even about love or marriage.
For me, participating in religious sex shows devotion by obedience.
It's agreeing to do sexual things I would often not have chosen, because the deity is using those things as a teaching method.
Religious sex then becomes a kind of sacrifice: of expectations, of human ideas about "proper" sex, even of preferences sometimes... to gain spiritual knowledge.
It is going into the god's cave to fuck the god, because sex accomplishes a spiritual thing the god wants.
So what if the cave is dark and scary?
So what if terrifying things live there?
I go anyway, and do The Thing as requested, without complaint.
for some reason the most romantic thing i can think of is someone saying your name. the way it’s supposed to be said. early in the morning. late at night. mouth full of food. a whisper. in sob. in laughter. stuttering. idk there’s something about it that means more to me.
Lord Ares showed me that I can suffer, thrash, writhe, cry and cry, sob, dry-heave, scream, lash out, crash out, fall apart, lay catatonic, undergo humiliation, lose everything, and more, all over, and over, and over again.
I know most of those following me know this, but just to make it super clear. An Gorta Mór (The Great Hunger/the Great Famine) was a deliberate genocide of the Irish people. There was enough food grown in Ireland to make sure everyone was alive and healthy and survived. Instead it was exported, sent to England and elsewhere for profit while men, women, and children starved in the streets. While the English landlords fucked off and evicted starving families who couldn’t afford rent. While babies were too weak to cry and died at the side of the road.
They tried to kill us, but they did not succeed. And we owe so much thanks to the other oppressed peoples, in particular the Choctaw Nation and the Masai, who sent money and grain to us.
Let me repeat that. The Choctaw Nation who had just gone through the Trail of Tears sent us money to try save Irish lives. It’s led to an understanding between Irish people and Native American tribes, most recently when we donated to the Navajo and Hopi fundraisers for COVID-19 relief, because while it may be a different tribe, Irish people will never forget those who helped us and we’ll help back.
The entire population of the island is less than seven million people. We’re still a million less on this island than pre famine. And it’s not that long ago. My grandmother’s grandparents lived through it. We’ve told the stories, it literally changed the DNA of the country. We have a national fear of renting, because so many people were evicted. People joke about Irish people always offering loads of food, but it’s because there’s that cultural memory of not being able to.
They tried to kill us, but they did not succeed. We will not let them take our lives, we will not let them take our language. We lost so much, but we will not lose it all.
This is why I get so angry when people say “it was the potato famine, it was because of monoculture/microbes.”
Nope. The potatoes were the only thing Irish people were allowed to fucking eat, because as pointed out, the rest of the crops they were growing were for their landlords to ship to England. So when the one “worthless” crop they were allowed to eat rotted in the field, the English crown, empire, landlords, all shrugged and carried on. People starved to death lying next to productive fields.
