Sorry...

Sorry for lack of drawings in these days but, as I initially said when reblogging the post about Avianaugust, I will draw the species and which ones at my own pace. Most importantly though is that I am not feeling well and this hinders my will to draw and continue. Sorry. If I can and want I will draw something otherwise I will draw whatever I want whenever I feel.

I take the opportunity to thank everyone who reblogged, liked and overall enjoyed my posts. I never knew some of them could be liked so much, I don't like all of them but still, thank you! It makes my day seeing my art is being appreciated.

I might finish it one day if I can change the bg for something better, but I loved how the common raven came out. I purposely wanted something between a fake low poly and geometric style for the bird.

Little Angel

A tribute drawing to a poor common blackbird who fell victim of human avidity to control nature. This little fella got captured from the wild by a son of a bitch who then abandoned him after the feathers didn't grow because of stress, the person found him "ugly". A dear friend of mine took care of him the best she could do, I gave her some tips about nutrition and the cage in the hope associations for the protection of wildlife would intervene but nothing happened. So she took care of him, feathers on tail began to re-grow again but the stress caused by the previous person was too much he sadly died.

It devastated both her and I, who deeply hoped to save him (too bad I don't live where she is otherwise I would have more than happily helped her), so I decided to make a drawing tribute.

Cross the bridge, little warrior and gentle soul whose world didn't deserve you.

Another day, another style and tool: pixel art this time. I love pixel art despite it's not my main "expertise" but I freaking love how I can work on details with such complex tool.

Avianaugust-Day 9

This time I felt so uninspired with this species that I decided to use the same geometrich-shaped/designed bird I used for the previous bird species, BUT I wanted something different and thanks to this image:

I wanted to use the same technique but with a personal touch. I am satisfied with the final result. I hope to feel more inspired for the next bird, hoping irl stuff doesn't drain too much energy from me.

Thanks to my friend ZombieCats, I discovered a website about birds I only knew mainly by name since I visit other bird-related websites. I love this and you can find the English version too if you don't speak French. I also found bird mahjong, I love mahjong and combined with birds, it's even better!

Bird-themed mahjong solitaire: match identical tiles and clear the board. A classic puzzle in the colours of birdlife.

Avianaugust-Day 8

This time I wanted to try for the very first time a geometric style for the red warbler (Cardellina rubra), showing not only the nominate species Cardellina rubra rubra but also another subspecies, the Cardellina rubra melanauris which has dark gray ear patches and somewhat more scarlet upperparts than Cardellina rubra rubra. It is found from southwestern Chihuahua to northern Nayarit. The background is not mine, I found it on Pixabay and fit perfectly the type of bg I wanted to do. This time I opted for something minimalist.

Avianaugust-Day 7

Originally intended to only show the female to boost a bit some appreciation of the female counterpart, I then ended up loving equally both the male and female in this attempt to mimic 19th century animal illustrations regarding birds. Hope you like it, I'm for sure having fun with experimenting different ways of drawing and colouring. For the next bird I already know what to do

Avianaugust-Day 6

Yes, it's already August 6th here and I wanted to use the bird's main colour palette as base for the background. Very quick drawing actually.

An extremely simplified common potoo (Nyctibius griseus) I drew during a conversation on NG forum. You can see the photo reference used both for the pose and for colour technique. I love these birds and I can mimic common potoo's call to troll local house sparrows and other small passerines XD I'm evil, I know.

I don't think I will consistently follow it because my irl stuff keeps me pretty busy, but I might draw some prompts. Great idea as always, I remember these prompts!
