"Men are emotionally inept" Is a psyop. The more you interact with men and observe them, you realize they are very well aware of social graces and good emotional and interpersonal skills. Men invented sales, many of them are experts at reading people, winning them over etc. They have the soft skills to be mindful of another's feelings or empathize and think about what the other party might want or need at any given time.
The problem is-they only deploy these soft skills when they're trying to achieve some aim or objective. In other words, all their emotional skills are used selfishly. Many don't deploy these skills out of love or concern for another's feelings. Man when it's time to manipulate someone to get something he wants: in tune with all the person's needs and can rapidly calculate the best move to win them over/make them feel good. Same fucking man when it's time to think about what his wife of 15 yrs might want for Valentine's Day: *suddenly becomes an emotionally stunted cave men* Herp derp impossible for me to know, I'm not good at this feelings stuff. Yeah I don't buy it. They don't lack "emotional intelligence". They have the intelligence, they have the skill set. What they lack is the love, care, genuine concern, self sacrifice etc necessary to draw on this skill set for non-selfish reasons. Learning more about emotional intelligence is not going to help the underlying psychopathy many of them display.
me and one of my friends talked about the ethics of surrogacy a few weeks ago, and i'm curious as to what other radfems think about it.
on one hand, it's useful for those in relationships where they can't have children by natural means (gay/lesbian couples, those with fertility issues, etc).
but on the other hand, it's just another way to buy a woman's body. oftentimes only the richer class can afford a surrogate, and a big reason for that is because they don't want pregnancy to ruin their bodies and looks.
there's more reasons, mostly cons tbh, but i'm too lazy to write them here, so onto the poll questions

i think surrogacy can be okay when it's done for family/friends without payment.
obviously anything pregnancy-related should be covered by the parents-to-be, but a monetary incentive is what makes surrogacy so predatory. however, i think living in a patriarchal society can also condition women into being more likely to "want" to help produce a baby for someone.

most, if not all, of my relationships/sex with men have been a result of compulsory heterosexuality. but i know bisexuals can also experience comphet. i definitely like the male attention/validation way more than the men themselves. but am i a febfem w a severe history of comphet? or a lesbian w a severe history of comphet?

I haven't seen men really walking around shirtless unless it's on the beach or sth so I'm not sure how many are walking around like that regularly, but yeah women shouldn't have to conform to ridiculous standards either. Now is it safe, no. And I would advise women to not do that because the world and the justive system (in every country) sucks. But ideally they should be able to.
I do wonder about the logistics of it though. Moving around normally without a bra is fine, but even faster walking can be incredibly painful for women with larger breasts. Plus say you go to the beach and are freeboobed, play around in the water and then go back home. Driving without a bra is hell, but putting on a bra when you're damp is also hell. So we just might not see a lot of women shirtless/freeboobed even if it was safer.

obviously yes, but since men are disgusting and are certain to harass women even more than they already do, I am leaning more towards men should be punished for walking around shirtless, too [also, it has the additional benefit of not having to see men half naked]

You know how angry hobby clothing makers on here get when their friends try to guilt them into making clothes for them for free or at an insultingly low price? How come itās fine when the thing people want their female friends to make for them is a baby and the means by which they want said friend to make said baby is through a physically strenuous, nine-month-long, 24/7 process that will irreversibly change her body and could kill her?
obviously there's nothing I can do to stop a woman who's dead set on growing her friends' baby inside of her for nine months and immediately giving it away to the 'intended parents' (for free) but i am still against it (as in i don't think it's a good idea) and i would like there to be more of an effort educating women how dangerous surrogacy is so they can make an informed choice.

And in general, when we're talking about an exploitative industry, whether it's in feminist discussions or leftist ones, be VERY skeptical of any suggestion that the solution to the problem is for women to do it for free.
this isn't a poll, more of an open-ended question. for any radfems that used to wear makeup, how did you stop? did it take a lot of struggle or was it easy for you? and what tips, or encouragments, could you pass onto women that don't want to wear makeup anymore but can't bring themselves to stop?

i don't date men but i disagree that dating them disqualified one from being a radfem. i don't think you need to be a perfect radfem, practicing every single thing you preach, to call yourself one. radical feminists live under the same patriarchy as everyone else and are still victim to the same societal pressures as other women.
