Did our first float tank, whoa what a trippy experience with @magnettic 😱 It's incredible to learn which muscles we are holding onto unconsciously throughout our entire day, sometimes our entire lives! Yoga has taught me awareness of my own body. It's the only thing we really have in this life, and even that is temporary. Asana, the physical practice, puts us in touch with our bodies so that we may live closer to our inner truth. Moving from that center we can then allow that consciousness to permeate throughout our entire lives. By deepening our connection with our physical body we are more connected to that which moves us, pure love energy connecting us directly to source, to each other. Honestly I thought I wouldn't be able to last the entire hour session in my float! But as you can tell even in this dimly lit room I emerged feeling so completely relaxed, refreshed and full of light! We are definitely going to be doing lots more of these as Marco continues to recover... It is recommended to do a few within a short span of each other at first to achieve the deepest beneficial effects. Just like a pose in physical vinyasa yoga flow, the body loves repetition. We can drop deliciously deeper as our muscle memory ignites. Coconuts have to be one of my favorite gifts from Mother Nature! Hacking open coconuts makes you feel so primal doesn't it?! 🐵 If you can't climb a local palm tree like a monkey, you can still get them at most local grocers which is heaps easier👌🏼😜 I like to dump the entire contents, juice and all the scraped flesh into the blender for this one: 1 coconut (juice and meat) 1 big scoop of your fav protein powder (vanilla flavored are especially delicious in here!) 1 tsp @connectfoods #organic maca powder 1/2 vanilla bean (if your protein is unflavored) Touch of Manuka or local raw honey 1 Tbsp hemp seeds Lots of ice ☃❄️ (Optional to add a bit of spinach or kale for some extra greens) It's a creamy delicious protein #milkshake! With tons of #fiber and sustained energy from the combination of fats and #macaroot 🙌🏼 Starting the day with #dessert is totally okay 😋🍦 I've also been loving these #sustainable glass straws lately from @glassstraws! 😍 Not only are the obviously reusable, they are made from Pyrex glass so they can handle both hot and cold drinks and dishwasher safe! Plastic straws are a very big issue for the oceans, especially in areas like Bali where environmental education hasn't been widely accepted yet, as our western introduction of plastic is still relatively recent! Plastics, like diamonds, are forever. Good morning 🌊🌊🌊 Haven't had solo time in a very long time... Reminded this morning of how truly powerful and important it is to journey back to the self. #Ahimsa is often translated and referred to as the actions of non-harming, non-violence towards others. Yet this also translates into #selflove 💙 We can practice ahimsa by taking the time to care for ourselves, and not running ourselves into the ground as many of us are used to doing. It can be easy to get caught up in the demands of high-stress situations, the desire to accomplish more, to get things 'perfect'. Why are we striving to get more things done when stress can literally kill us? Let's strike a balance. Let's love ourselves so much that we can acknowledge when to stand up for ourselves with strength, in order to be soft. Today I am thankful for myself, and the ability to slow it down when I need to, the ability to recognize when I have pushed myself too far. This year has been abundant with growth, my most challenging year. A year ago today I had no idea what lies ahead, as we never do... The thing I have the most gratitude for is the fact that I have been forced to change my perspective, to truly count my blessings. It's easy to feel blessed when life is going smoothly, but finding the light through the darkness is when we truly shine... We become brighter when we must illuminate our own pathway. This year I've discovered that I truly am divine. It's not ego, we are all divine, we just need to remember. We have the power to surprise ourselves, something inside of us is lying dormant, just waiting to be broken open. There is magic inside of your heart, and it can soften the toughest pains. The only thing that is real in this world is love, everything else is just an illusion. We need to remember that, it can be tough sometimes, and we might need reminders... I am surrounded by angels, the most incredible support group a girl could ask for. Life is not always sunshine and roses! It's a crazy roller coaster ride and sometimes there are amazing highs, and sometimes there are incredible lows... Today is R U OK day in Australia, and it's a great reminder to help us stay aware of our feelings and emotions, and have empathy towards others. So many people can get lost in their story, and emotions run rampant resulting in depression and sometimes suicide. I've witnessed some people very close to me struggle with depression, and I lost someone dear to me to suicide at a very young age. It's okay to talk about our emotions. It's okay to feel sad and just let it out of you! On my travels I've actually had some of the most open, honest, and deep conversations with perfect strangers, some I met once and will never see again... You never know whose lives you will touch and how. You never know what the person next to you is going through. We all have our struggles, we are all unique and deal with something tragic at one point or another. Reach out to someone today. Reach out to someone you love, reach out to a total stranger. We are all on this crazy journey called life. WE ARE NOT ALONE!
