Dinolake #2, day 3
Time lapse of my brontosaurus painting for Dino Lake series. This includes my third day of painting this canvas. I got three hours work in at Artsi Creative Space studio in Tacoma, WA. on Friday, so I am almost done with this one.
Acrylic paint on 16" by 20" canvas.
Got this far on my second Dino Lake painting today. Three hours at Artsi studio in downtown Tacoma. 16" x 20" acrylic on canvas.
Inking my Dinovember 2025 drawings for a possible coloring book. Here is Day 2 Iguanodon with both the inked coloring page, as well as an alcohol pen coloreded in version.
Please comment on weather you like the coloring book idea, what format would you prefer, and if backgrounds are necessary for dinosaur coloring pages.
Good night of progress on the Gothic Romance Book Cover challenge!
Dino Lake Brontosaurus, 16" x 20" acrylic on canvas. I worked on this painting at Artsi studio today. I got 4 hours work in this morning.
More work in progress for my Gothic Romance Book Cover challenge. Got some old dark houses painted in. Its amazing how much of a mood change you can get by taking a normal victorian era house, going for a low angle, exagerated two point perspective and lots of shadow.
Color versions of my February Character Designs, including a couple of drawings of A. Hicks (with the derby).
Colored in with OLO brand alcohol markers!
February Character Design with a character based off of a couple of ladies dressed on a mix of anime and punk styles that i saw at while shopping at Costco. The happi coat / Doc Martin boot combo just looked like an awesome combo for adventure shopping.
For my character, I also added Cho Cho pants and a leather combat corset with gun/sword belt. Then I topped off with goggles, gloves, and a filter mask.
This character would be fine for a modern, sci-fi or cyber-punk setting. For a more steampunk setting, I would swap the boots out for Wellingtons and rounder goggles without the side windows.
Started to lay paint down on this year's oil paint challenge. This year the theme is Gothic Romance Book Covers. All the paintings are on 9" by 12" canvas paper using a much recycled material as possible.
It is February, so that means it is time for some new character designs! I also got my hands on a new Crescent sketchbook so I'll be hitting them with some alcohol color markers.
