Sperm Whales napping đ Asia (2024) "Beneath the Waves"
It's thought the reason they sleep upright is to make it easy to bob up for air.
The Danlou dynamic so far in season 3 has been hysterical to me because those two desperately needs a friend to vent to but they literally have nobody that knows their entire life story except eachother. BUT they're still mad at eachother so they don't want to comfort the other person. Which ends up becoming two one sided confessionals with no comforting where Daniel is pouring this heart out about his maker-fledgling bond and Louis is like đ sounds weird, and Louis is talking about how the book hurts his feeling, his lingering grief over Claudia and Daniel is like đŹ well anyways here's the Talamasca.

i hope that someday there will be no more advertisements ever again
the main problem i have with america is that nothings old as hell there. i cant be so far away from a castle it damages my aura
man people really just say stuff on here huh
Noooo haha don't spread racist ideals and colonizer propaganda by idolizing white european aesthetics above all else and denying the life and accomplishments of native peoples on their own lands
People have been living in the downtown area of Tucson, Arizona for at least 4,500 years. The greater Santa Cruz river valley has been occupied by humans for 12,000 years.
You see this?
That's not a river. That's the South Canal in Mesa, Arizona (Phoenix metro area).
This is a view of the East and South canals. At least half of all the Phoenix metro canals were originally built by the Hohokam (from roughly 200-1400 CE), and are still in use (restored) today.
Phoenix, Arizona actually has more miles (kilometers) of Canals total than both Venice and Amsterdam. No, really. Phoenix has about 180 miles of canals, many of which are built on ancient canal foundations.
below is an aerial view photo taken in the late 1930's of one branch of Phoenix's canal systems:
Also have the "Montezuma Castle," if you need a castle:
I don't need to look at some 12th century European castle to see age.
Donât forget the continuously inhabited pueblos!!
The Taos Pueblo, Orayvi, and Sky City (Acoma) were all founded sometime before 1150AD and have been continuously inhabited since then.
Thereâs the Medicine Wheel in Wyoming - called AnnĂĄshisee by the ApsĂĄalooke, who also say that it was there before they arrived. We donât know how old it is. Oral history from several different indigenous tribes say it was built by ancient ancestors who lived without iron.
And then thereâs the Serpent Mound in Ohio, which, by the way, is the largest serpent effigy in the world.
Radiocarbon dates it back to at least 300 BCE. (2300 years ago), so, you know â the time of Ptolemy and the Punic Wars, and was later repaired by indigenous people about 900 years ago.
This just scratches the surface. So, yeah, we have a lot of old as shit stuff here built by indigenous people. Donât even get me started on South America.
Oh my god?!!!?!!
as soon as she said âyou know how they fuck, right?â I was like âplease god let me hear the words âsexual dimorphismâ come out of Kate McKinnonâs mouthâ and then I DID. Beauty.
Visas being denied to players and their families
Forbidding the iranian team coaches from entering the country and forcing them to direct the game from MEXICO through a tv
Players from non european countries being stopped and searched like criminals with dogs
Deporting african referees just because of their nationality
Forbidding interviews from being spoken i'm languages other than English and forbidding journalists and players from speaking their native languages
And all this just in the first week....
i DO believe that a good writer can make mischaracterization work. oh there's a character who doesn't normally cry? figure it out!! disect the character. make the situation cryable for them. make that character cry ugly tears even if it goes against their very nature. YOU CAN MAKE IT WORK!!!
finally some relatable content on ig
Shoutout to characters that are both genuinely deeply kind and also genuinely terrifying and willing to spill buckets worth of blood to get something done. And neither of these are an act, they're just both very true.
i think the whole Having A Job thing would be less bad if people in management positions were capable of planning and abstract thought
Normal character arc for an Evil Companion Character: Oh my GOD I've been EVIL what have I DONE I should be BETTER I should be NICE
Minthara's Character Arc: The problem is that up until now I have been evil in service to Other People. Now âď¸ I can be ⨠Independently Evil â¨
drawback of all four games today ending in a draw: none. that was fucking hilarious.
