i think jon gives him a bit too much credit. bonnell is only a “good debater” in the sense that hes decent at baiting people & has a few tricks to dominating a conversation. pretty much everything he says is in bad faith. jon fell for it hard because he came in expecting a more open conversation & destinys only goal was to make him & his point of view look bad.

but if you watch destinys debate with mister metokur, who is wise to that sort of game, its the complete reverse. metokur refuses to take the bait & doesnt let destiny steer the conversation. & destiny REALLY cant handle it. he starts struggling almost immediately. i dont agree with everything metokur says, but hes pretty pro at dealing with this kind of “debater”.

anyway, good on jon. he admitted where he goofed, but didnt back down from his core position. & he was sincere & didnt act like an egotistical asshole, which is why destiny doesnt get much support despite “winning.”
