Study reminder for my achievers:

I want to sleep instead of studying. So here's a reminder for you and for me: Sacrifice is never vain. It's only a burden when you forget what you are studying for. Whatever you're working for, it is worth it. It is worth the long nights, the efforts, and overall the sacrifice. People who succeed are people who sacrifice without letting doubt get to them. But people who succeed also know how to take care of themselves. Study and sleep. Study and eat. Study and enjoy studying. Study and take breaks.

Work for it, work for you.

Know when to prioritise what. Sacrificing your sleep once or twice for crucial deadlines is understandable, doing it everyday would be cruel to yourself and you won't be able to learn anything without having enough rest.

If there was only one piece of advice that I could give to baby chemistry students just starting out on experimental work, it would be this: take lab notes like your life depends on it. Always write down the date, no detail is too silly, add clarifications for future you. You remember how you did your experiment now, you know what this random brief note means now, but in a month or two you'll need this information again and I promise you will not remember. Lab notes naturally get a little messy and I'm not telling you to use highlighters, sticky notes, and freaking washi tape, but try to keep this stuff as neat as you can, because being lazy about keeping it in order WILL come back to bite you in the ass sooner or later

Adding on to it, you will think you are going to write the report in a week and for sure you'll know what your cryptic acronym means, but you will actually sit down to write the report only a month later, and you will sit there looking at what task1_current_usual.txt meant and what goddamn current value you put in. NOT TO MENTION UNITS!! the amount of times I forget to mention what units my measurements were in, because I think "ain't no way I will forget that" and guess what. I did. In fact. Forget what unit it was. PLEASE write everything down, trust me, you will remember what you ate the day of the experiment but you will not remember what you did in the experiment.
