Katniss spit out a lungful of water.  She was disoriented and didn’t know where she was, she just knew her chest hurt something awful. Felicia was flirting with her in a way that even Katniss Everdeen couldn’t be oblivious when she was in her right mind.  But Katniss wasn’t in her right mind right now.  She had fallen off her surfboard and had the bad luck of banging her head on it.

Even with a possible concussion, Katniss managed to focus her mind enough to see a woman in a bathing suit standing above her and speaking.  “What happened?”

“Look! Katniss! Look!” Prim reached into her bag as soon as she walked through the door, her goat treading behind her. Then she held out the bakery bread towards her with pride. “The baker and I traded and he gave me bread! The kind with the cinnamon and nuts! Look!” The girl was so proud of herself and her first really good trade.

Katniss smiled at her little sister.  She examined the bread.  “Prim that’s amazing.  What did you have to trade for this?”  Bread was hard to come by and this looked more expensive than usual. Cinnamon and nuts was a luxury that was very rare.  Katniss was glad to see the goat behind Prim, the only thing they really had worth trading.
