My problem with roleplay blogs is he would not fucking say thatšš not in a million years would he say thatššš she wouldnt say that either šš
Me: *excited for the whodunnit and ready to accuse every mutual of writing every fic and drawing every piece of art*
My Brain: āYou know tomorrow is just the due date, the fics donāt actually come out until the 1st?ā
Me: *sighs and stops practicing my dramatic āI KNOW itās you!ā rants in the mirror*
For the ask game. I hope youāre having a lovely day, Milk!
YAY thank you!!!
š¦ Gimme a crack fic! Something ridiculous and funny!
Number Two, Rhonda, and crack fics just go hand in hand, so I'm gonna go with Scholarly Shenanigans, another missing scene fic (I like those okay) about Number Two and Rhonda "borrowing" the microfiche machine from the library. I'm gonna self-brag for a second but I think it has the best opening line I've ever written
(also now I'm seeing a mistake in the second line literally two years later! how did I miss that!)
š Gimme a sweet fic! Something fluffy and cute!
Thank the Stars Above is about Constance getting a bee sting and Mr Benedict taking care of her, also known as the fic I tried to write for whumptober but forgot to put any whump in it
š¦ Gimme something underrated! Or just your own recommendation!
I don't think this is necessarily underrated but I think all of the SQ lovers should read 46 Fairview St Apt 2A, which is about SQ figuring out his place, his relationship with his father, and how to be a person post-series
I do not know whether any creator of a media I post about or write fanfic for has read any of it.
But I do know this.
If āØI⨠was a published author, Iād be monitoring AO3 like a HAWK looking for those fics. Iād be on there every day. Iād be using an anon account, obviously, but Iād be there, and as long as there was nothing personally triggering, Iād read every word. Iād tell myself I wouldnāt comment or kudos or anything, but if the fandom got popular enough, Iād probably find a fic that was so good I just have to, you know?
I might even write a fic or two myself just to see what people think. Knowing myself, it would probably be a crack fic to avoid spoilers. Just the most unhinged thing imaginable. Pure chaos all the way through the fic. And then Iād go onto tumblr to look at the fanart of my work, which is something I actually have experienced (thank you guys) and eventually see all those character analysis posts. Might make one myself, the only trouble is if when Iām writing about one of my own characters or themes someone else reblogs it like āop this is obviously not what the author intended. You donāt know anything.ā Because of course the only mature and logical response to that is to reblog their reply with a dramatic video of myself being like āFool, I AM the author!ā (You know like a Scooby doo villain taking their mask off). But then Iād be doxxing myself, so instead I just have to live with that knowledge forever.
And all this makes me wonder. Because either A) I, specifically, am a messed up individual and no one would ever do this, B) famous actors and creators just donāt have interest in this and/or they donāt have the time on their hands, or C) there is a real possibility that a creator of a fandom I make content for has taken the time to read my work either as an unhinged post or a fic. Iāll never know, but Iāll always wonder. And that my friends, is the magic of the internet.
Hello, Anonymous Friend! I hope you are doing well :)
š½ A fic that isnāt prose (poetry, text fic, etc.)
A collection of records, regarding Ms. Dipika Perumal and one missing child by @3584-tropical-fish!! It's so clever, and I really love getting to see how creative people can be when writing. I truly adore this fic, and I very much hope everyone will go read it!!
š A fic that made you laugh out loud
The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Epistolary Bullying Campaign by @mvshortcut!! I don't laugh very much, but this is the first fic that really caught me off guard and made me smile. It's great <3
š A fic youāve re-read several times
Rolie Polies by @plentyghosts!! Oh, I've read this probably upwards of ten times now? Either way, it's gorgeous. I really love it, and it makes me feel so many things
Normalize leaving unhinged comments on ao3 fics you like. I'm tired of being the only one brave enough to write "I am chewing on this fic" in the comment section. Be weird. Authors will love you for it
