I want to write some gore again but no story has formed in my brain yet. I kinda wanna write Driver cuz I like the whole cold explosive anger, but it's bordering on original fiction to put that man in a new situation and I don't have the brain for that, I need some other character(s) to bounce off of. None of the Goslingverse ships have really struck my fancy. I'd like to write Driver as some kind of dissociated stalker, not willing to put someone else in danger through being around him again, but unable to let them go. Waaaagh.

I think if grace became and eridian (concience trasnfer yes yes very scientific), he'd still be pretty touchy. which would result in. sleeping on top of rocky. and grace would sleep in wewird positions, of course. and rocky would have to balance him on his carapace

oh and i think grace is a rofler, he would ROFL and wiggle his legs in the air, forgetting he doesnt technically have a stomach to grasp from laughing too hard as an eridian. and then hed struggle to get back upright and rocky will have to help him up

holy shit sorry this took me so long to answer but boy do i have some. there are definitely more than this but here are some that jump to the forefront of my mind:

all 7 fics in the "grocky works" collection by spqr - i'm of the opinion that this author is like. a generational talent. no one is doing it like them. when i think of the best fics i've ever read, ever––not just for this ship, but for any ship––i think about these

dog days by furiosophie - this one came out pretty recently and fucking blew me away. it's the kind of writing i WISH i had the chops to pull off. the yearning is delicious. it also holds the high honor of being one of only two grocky fics i've ever cried while reading

the mortifying ordeal of being known by serotoninshift - just an all timer to me. the characterizations are so good, and i really love the author's take on how eridians get aroused/feel pleasure being related to sound. the dynamic is just so right idk man

a first course in anthro-eridian sexuality studies by falling_cosmos - and this one was the first grocky fic that made me cry. made me completely insane. the exploration of how earth would react to finding out about grace + rocky having a more-than-platonic bond was so well-executed

the scientific method by quarfield - still a wip but you gotta. you just gotta get there. it's funny, it's hot, it's creative, it's so well-characterized. the sex is batshit crazy in the best way and the banter is top-notch

rocky curious too by serenfire - a grocky classic imo. if you haven't already read this one you either just got into this ship or you've got homework to do right now immediately. i love their voices in this, and i love the way the main story is bracketed by grace + rocky "telling" the story

both fics in the xeno jerkoff cinematic universe series by grimark - oooohhhhhh boy the way this author writes them both. woof. there's so much repression happening in here and it's so fucking yum yum delicious. i don't normally go in for unresolved romantic tension because i'm a big sappy pathetic fucking baby but it worked for me here and if you read the fics you'll see why (hint: it's the repression) and also it's just extremely well written

okay so imagine after a couple years on erid, eridian scientists start trying to make fabric that grace can safely wear. some of his clothes are getting worn out at this point, his weight fluctuations mean that not everything from the hail mary fits him, and in general they just want to make sure he's comfortable. they know that the visual appearance of clothing is quite important to humans (he comments on the mottled color of rocky's clothing in the book) so they use a camera gun like rocky's to make sure they're keeping the colors consistent and to grace's tastes.

cue the leader of the human-safe textiles team showing up to the biodome to gift grace new outfits. he's all excited to see what eridian fabric will feel like and to get to try on some new clothes and... huh.

"thank you! wow! these are so great." he coughs awkwardly. "um, but they're all... translucent?"

the team leader jazz-hands happily. "yes, made them to fit savior grace's preferences! you wanted clear materials for your biodome, so we tried to replicate that. we couldn't make them completely see-through, my apologies."

"no, yeah, it's just..." grace side-eyes rocky, hoping for support, but rocky remains silent. "it's nothing. i love them. um, maybe some non-translucent options could be good, though. just... for variety."

"understood! i'll bring some next time." the team leader taps their claws, then says, "aren't you going to try them on?"

another glance at rocky, this one more desperate. rocky is doing the eridian equivalent of a smug little smirk, the asshole.

grace knows that, logically, this shouldn't bother him — the eridians can already hear through his clothes (and his skin, and his muscles) at all times anyways — but there's still blush creeping across his cheeks as he changes into a set of gauzy clothes. they're made of multiple layers of thin fabric, no doubt because they couldn't achieve the see-through look on something thicker, that drape over him in a deceptively delicate way. jesus, they've even made him fucking see-through underwear.

when he goes back out to do a little walk and twirl for the team leader, rocky wolf-whistles.

Hrgh I haven't worked out all the kinks (hah) yet in my laying-eggs-in-Grace's-bladder thought but I can't stop thinking about it. Tbf I thought about it very deeply whilst I was jacking off and briefly considered trying out sounding myself to be able to write the non-existent fic more realistically (post nut clarity reminded me to not shove things up my dick all willy-nilly). So, all this talk about my dick to say that the whole willy-nilly-ness of it all is exactly the problem. Rocky wouldn't want to hurt Grace, wouldn't even want to do anything that has the potential of hurting Grace. So the whole ovipositor-in-the-urethra scenario comes with a lot of prep, xenonite sounds of different sizes just to get Grace up to the point where he could even attempt to take a part of Rocky inside him. And even then, could Rocky design a xenonite sheath smooth enough not to just fucking rip Grace to shreds?? (For the purpose of this thought, yes he can. It's got like. Cross-linked strands of xenonite that make a soft but atmosphere-resistant material or something) And idk what y'alls favourite ways of imagining Rocky's ovipositor are but we can divert from my fish-inspired cone and lean more into the tentacle. Maybe Rocky designs like a speculum or something to hold Grace's urethra open and allow Rocky to slide his ovipositor in more easily. The first time he attempts Grace cums as soon as the ovipositor gets even a little bit close and the sight of his fluid oozing from the stretched hole makes Rocky need to take a break for a week because he's scared to crush Grace from his tsunami of lust. And then we haven't even gotten to the egg-laying yet! Obviously the eggs can't go straight from Rocky into Grace, no matter how much I want them to. If we imagine they've prepared for this scenario, maybe there's a uh capture bag at the end of Rocky's sheath. Maybe it feeds into Grace like a catheter balloon. And then it can be filled up with eggs when Rocky's ovipositor pulses and deposits them in Grace's cold bladder. Maybe the feeling of the eggs passing through the ovipositor and Grace's urethra, stretching it all out to the brink (maybe a little over) of too much has Grace passing out. And then he comes to with a full bladder. I bet Rocky feels up the rugae of Grace's bladder, poking and prodding and hearing the muscle give way. Depending on the size of the eggs he could fix his whole clutch in there maybe, stretching the bladder out, pressing some other organs out of the way, but it'll be fine because it's only temporary. Distended lower stomach and Grace feels overwhelmed inside and out by Rocky. Never had anything like this inside of his bladder before. And Rocky dirty-talks to him abt making Grace incubate his and Adrian's eggs of course, making Grace dizzy from the arousal of the thought of being kept as nothing more than a useful, satiated toy. And then the eggs have to come out. They'll figure out a way to have them all neatly lined up. As Rocky retracts his ovipositor they follow one-by-one (not much choice, with everything still being safe in Rocky's sheath), stretching Grace back out. And Grace is spent, mindfucked, delirious from pleasure and pain and lingering pressure. The speculum gets removed and then in the soft afterglow Rocky scolds Grace for being so so so leaky and open that he can't even keep his gross disgusting waste fluid (piss) inside anymore. Maybe Rocky just needs to make a new device and control that for him, too.

you weren't there that day for the Naming of Things (finished, rated T) by callmearcturus: Why is Rocky being so cagey about what he named Grace? Well… it’s embarrassing. But not in the way you think. Excellent ideas about Eridian language, featuring Grace getting adaptive hearing aids. The ending almost made me cry, which is HARD to do.

phenomenal nominal nothing (finished, rated M) by @grimark: Handfeeding meburgers to your human as a metaphor for love. Heartwrenching and fucked up Rocky POV. Nothing overtly sexual happens but somehow it’s still FILTHY.

i want us both to eat well (finished, rated G) by @peglarpapers: How much would Rocky be willing to sacrifice to keep Grace by his side? A hell of a lot. This fic also explores cultural differences vis a vis cannibalism. Incredible.

Teacher Grace’s Earth Human Romance (finished, rated G) by ketonebodies: Three of the Eridian kids in Grace’s class write an epic RPF together about their favorite teacher. Hints of worldbuilding and angst make the goofy humor even better.

Explicit

The Right Hand of Light (finished, rated E) by @doomedblade: Some of the best Eridian worldbuilding I’ve seen. Grace and Rocky love each other and are insane about it. Also probably the first ever use of the tag “Erotic carapace moulting” on Ao3. Groundbreaking.

Co-Valence (finished, rated M) by minimalistless: One of the best “Grace confesses to Rocky that he said ‘no’ to the mission” fics out there. Really interesting thoughts on Eridian conceptions of consent, as well as Eridian courtship. Only in the “explicit” category for a brief scene near the end.

It Is Imperative That The Cylinder Remains Unharmed (finished, rated E) by @startingatmidnight: When Grace’s “cylinder” gets into a predicament, his internal monologue predictably takes the form of Reddit posts. Hilarious.
