And being mad about them being covered in old sweat or not having minty fresh breath? Wtf I was SO HAPPY about reading stuff like that! That shit is peak romance!! Of course you're gonna have sex when one or each one of you isn't squeaky clean! That's life. And not minding it with your partner is what marks the difference between loving someone and not loving someone. Sure maybe the smut wasn't hot per se but it was something better - IT WAS REALISTIC!

Have y'all only ever had sex where everything was perfect? Where your partner didn't do something weird that did nothing for you but you put up with it because they liked it and you didn't mind, really? Just liked that they liked it?

My god. It is so damn refreshing to read stuff like this. You want porn? Go read/watch porn. I'm sure Rowell didn't intend for you to go masturbate to those scenes. They're there to show how much they love each other, how relationships and even sex can be work that you have to put some effort into but it's effort that you LIKE. This book made it so damn obvious how much they love each other, like I felt it to my damn core! I underlined so many sentences because they resonated with me so deeply, like finally, somebody wrote about the way love and relationships work for ME.

This is the hill I choose to die on and I'll do so gladly.
