they hate when we serve doomed found family
i agree so much about making your blorbos pathetic but i do fear that many take this to mean 'make them more traditionally feminine/submissive' which genuinely hurts my soul. make your blorbos pathetic in interesting character-oriented ways. understand their neuroses and turn the dials up to eleven. juxtapose the parts of life they handle extremely well with the parts of their lives that make them eat shit. make them angry. make them cold. make them pave their own way to hell while building walls preventing them from seeing any other way. please i'm begging you no more pathetic as an euphemism for bottoming im gonna mclose it.
every time i listen to “you’re a mean one mr. grinch” i can’t help but sit there and think “what did the grinch do to hurt you?” because dude just stands there for 2 minutes and 58 seconds and drags the grinch into the dirt
he stole christmas, kayla! stop with your #notallgrinches propaganda!
you know what if someone told me i was a three-decker sauerkraut and toadstool sandwich with arsenic sauce i’d probably be bitter enough to steal christmas too
Interestingly, though The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is narrated by Boris Karloff, the big musical number is sung by the late Thurl Ravenscroft - an American voice actor better known as the voice of Tony the Tiger.
My headcanon is that the Grinch and Tony the Tiger had a bad breakup, and “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” is the resulting breakup song.
Did this really HAVE to be the first thing I see when I opened up Tumblr?
Yes.
oh god theres art
@altadude you know what must be done.
ive been avoiding reblogging this honestly but just. What the fuck. What the fuck tumblr
I apologize to all my followers for this
if i had to read this you do too
I have a hate-hate relationship with this
Good grief… I’m sorry, but I can’t not reblog this…
Tis the season bitches
DAMN IT WHY WOULD YOU BRING THIS BACK YOU HEATHEN
Why is this on my dash?
…..I’m.. Bothered? by the fact that I’m not bothered by this.
You’re not bothered?? I’m not only not bothered, I’m freaking invested. I’m having actual empathetic sadness for The Grinch. I want them to go into couple’s counseling. I want the “ten years later” when Tony visits Whoville on business and meets the reformed Grinch whose heart has grown 3 times its usual size. I want them to reminisce over a shared dinner of roast beast and wine, then spend a drunken night together, then realize that maybe things are different and people really do change. I want a 3-act story where there’s a long dark night of soul searching and the realization that maybe we’ve all got a little bit of bad banana with greasy black peel inside us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make a damned fine banana bread if someone will give us a chance.
“maybe we’ve all got a little bit of bad banana with greasy black peel inside us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make a damned fine banana bread if someone will give us a chance” is an incredibly profound quote and I did NOT expect to get it from a Grinch x Tony the Tiger post
every fucking year i have to see this on my dash please just let me fucking r e s t
It’s that time again.
“maybe we’ve all got a little bit of bad banana with greasy black peel inside us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make a damned fine banana bread if someone will give us a chance”
Still my favorite quote from this hellsite
Nearly 10 years of this.
Happy 10 Year Anniversary to Tony the Tiger and the Grinch’s divorce?

not to be weird
Constantly thinking about Noé's Archiviste powers, because per the themes of the narrative, Noé using his powers should be the ultimate act of love. This is a story that over and over equates observation with love (Jeanne yelling at Noé to look at Vanitas and that being the thing that ends their fight, Noé just listing everything he's learned about the man during said fight, Vanitas doing basically the same thing when Noé is injured and that being what wins Domi over to approving of him, him baking Noé's favorite dessert right after, Domi's whole speech about admiring Jeanne while she's in front of her, the ongoing conflict of Vanitas v. the mortifying idea of being known, the very framing of the story being Noé recording this all as a literal case study of Vanitas, etc.) And in order to use said ability, he needs to already be doing an act of physical and emotional intimacy. He needs to be doing it to someone who trusts him with a part of their very life force. Then, on top of that, he gets the further ability to see them, through their own eyes and emotions.
But we've literally never seen him use his powers like that, as an extension of his love. It's almost exclusively used against him as an act of violence, or as a tool to further someone else's plans. The very ability he has that lets him love is deemed creepy, or predatory. He doesn't like using it. It keeps him from having casual physical intimacy with people who would otherwise be 100% down (cough cough, Vanitas) and on the flipside, makes him view people who let him use his powers on them as them doing him a favor, rather than actually just loving him back.
Because it's too much. When he loves, Noé carves a person out and briefly lives in their skin. And for most people, that's a little over the line, so Noé internalizes that the way he loves is weird, and it keeps him from having relationships, despite his love narratively being the strongest there is. Do you hear me???? Noé Archiviste simply trying to care about people is too much of an act of love and it's ruining his life.
Obviously Noé's powers as an Archiviste pose a lot of more serious stakes and questions about ethics and consent but there's also just. Something very queer about it. Yes wanting and drinking blood is normal and if everyone involved is fine with it it can be a very beautiful and enjoyable thing but YOU are different and YOU need to be extra careful about even slightly expressing your attraction and YOU need to know that your feelings surrounding this will often be seen as more predatory than anyone else's. The way even when it's Louis that's offering his blood to Noé, Noé still hesitates and Louis has to remind him that it's not the first time, his powers won't work, this is okay. The violent reactions Vanitas has over Noé asking for it being only mostly about Noè's powers. It definitely gives growing up queer and becoming more and more aware that your feelings are more "shameful" than everyone else's even when they're the same
So I made a slightly disturbing realisation about Noes past, specifically before his teacher picked him up.
TW: trafficking mention
So our first introduction to Noes past comes in the form of Dominique who explains to Vanitas how Noe had been sold on the market as an Archiviste Survivor.
However something that counter acts this is how Noe was found wandering aroind in the human world and had never been to the vampire world till the trafficking incident as far as he was aware.
Implying that the Archivistes were human world dwellers, and the fact that Louis says its still rumoured to be common place for some vampires to take humans to Atlus to sell as labour. Which gives us 2 options.
1. They knew Noe was an Archiviste when they nabbed him.
2. They didn't and found out later.
If we go with the fact of them always knowing then I don't think they ever intended to sell Noe on the markets, that could easily be a lie the teacher came up with, for one i find it hard to beleive a living Archiviste wouldn't be a hot commodity with the vampire population especially given their abilities.
Two Noe implies he wasn't fed everyday at some point.
Three its also implied that he was sold in the human world not Atlus if we take what he says about how it wasn't all that bad, as him speaking about the teacher buying him and not as him realising Domi was on about the trafficking as they were talking about the teacher only seconds before.
Not to mention in chapter 55 we see this breif memory
We see when the teacher first met Noe more clearly with more detail, it could be on audition but given hiw the ground under Noe looks like dirt it wouldn't surprise me if it was actually a circus or a traveling carnival, that Noe was treated more like an oddity given him another connection point with Vanitas.
But the more disturbing part for me isn't the clear damage done to his eye, I think we all talk about that enough, but rather that up close we can see this
Bandages on his neck.
Clearly what ever happend him under the watch of the kidnappers wasn't good, but a part of me wonders if vampires were involved could blood drinking of been common for him?
It would explain Noes reaction when Jean appolgised for forcing Noe to drink his blood, that Noes constant 'its fine!' Behaviour isn't just deflection or denial but because Noe truely doesn't understand how wrong what happened to him was because he was used to it.
No one has ever out right told him what happend to him was wrong and he should be upset yet. So far everything has been eaither played for comedy or just breifly touched on, so it wouldn't surprise me if in the next arc we focus more on Noes inner conflict as he comes to terms with hus teachers betrayel, possibly Revisit the death of Louis from a new lense and explore more in depth Noes own inner turmoil about wondering where he actually came from.
Up until this point Noe has been willfully ignorant of many things, and the way he specifically says
"Do I want to know."
In regards to meeting another Archiviste is very clearly a can of worms he is unsure that he even wants to open. What if he gets his hopes up only for them tk be dashes. What if he learns something he doesn't want to learn. What if the Archivistes aren't good people? Or worse. What if some are alive and Noe was actually abandoned?
I don't think thise are question Noe actively wants answered because if he was abandoned he would be forced to Revisit everything he had been through because of that day he was found in the forest.
The slavery was a deep trauma that Noè never faces which is also dangerous because it makes Noè vunerable around authority figures.
His mind goes on obeying and not rock the boat also when he should.
I think the best example is Ruthver entering in Noè 's room while Noè was sleeping.
That was the beginning of Ruthven's manipolation, he was checking how much he could push Noè's boundaries.
A different person would have kicked out lord Ruthver for violation of privacy and disrespect.
But Noè brushed off and he also accepted to drink a coffee with Lord Ruthven. Despite the fact lord Ruthven had tried to kill Vanitas few days before and hurting everyone in room included Noe.
But Noè 'survival instinct is strongly tied up with be complacent around authoritative figure, also when they violate his boundaries.

Just a post to remind everyone of Yoojin's self-hatred.
I haven't been able to stop thinking about that lately. Yoojin's hatred for himself is both terrible and fascinating.
At first, I thought he didn't mind Sung Hyunjae calling him an object because he also considered him an object whose abilities he could exploit. But as the story progressed, I realized it was because Yoojin considered himself an object. He was a means to an end, and that end was Yoohyun's "happiness." He doesn't consider himself a person; he's less than a monster. His interest in himself is so low that he doesn't even know his favorite color or that he likes sweets. Think of it as spending every day with someone you have absolutely no interest in. Why pay attention to Han Yoojin when Yoohyun exists? When the lovely Yerim and the amazing (and strong-armed) master blacksmith are around? When Guild Leader Sesung is there? When he has to stop Director Song from giving his gift to the government?
The fact that we have to guess things like what he likes already says something.
My baby Yoojin built his life around his younger brother, and when he left, everything crumbled like a house of cards. Instead of being an opportunity for self-discovery, this turned into an eight-year-long hate campaign against him. Hate was everywhere: on social media, in the news, at work, on the street, in absolutely every corner of his life. If he already lacked self-worth, now everyone else seemed to agree with him.
He gags when he thinks about himself. How bad do you have to feel about yourself to get to that point?Even when he liked someone (the huntress whose name I don't remember), it wasn't about how he felt about her, it was about how amazing she was and what a good person she was. Han Yoojin doesn't love himself, he tolerates himself. He tolerates his existence so that his brother and the people around him can be happy.
Even when we see his clone in the Chatboot arc, we can see how he fantasizes about suicide as some form of liberation, something he would never do because he has his children, but knowing that what he does will not affect anyone, he chooses death with a disturbing ease.
Yoojin isn't the type of person who's embarrassed to admit she likes sweets or the color pink. Yoojin "doesn't like anything in particular," while she will tell you how Yerim likes cute things and Hyunjae doesn't like the crust on bread. He doesn't hide it, it's just that he's not interested enough to even ask himself about it; he barely tolerates its mere existence; what he likes is irrelevant.
Except for the last few chapters, everything is improving and Yoojin is learning to appreciate himself more, but this is something that still keeps me up at night.
Sam: So, any thoughts or questions about my plan?
Jacob: [raises hand]
Jared: You don’t have to raise your hand, Jacob.
Jacob: Sorry, I didn’t want to be rude.
Sam: So what did you have to say about the plan?
Jacob, respectfully: It fucking sucks.
Jacob: what are some cute things to call your partner?
Jared: Sugar
Sam: Honey
Embry: flour
Quil: egg
Seth: 1/2 cup butter
Embry: stir
Quil: pour into a pan
Seth: preheat to 350 degrees.
