in theory its super bad when straight dudes go “hey ur a lesbian? we both like girls we’re the same!” but in reality this has happened twice and most recently was today when a guy i was training in the frame shop went “oh you’re gay?” “yea” “that’s cool. it’s cool that you told me. we both like girls and star wars so it’s nice that we have a shift together :)” like god damn it brett you’re so respectful and thoughtful with your goddamned words
the posts that are like “straight men can never love a woman like a lesbian” are cool jokes and stuff but u gotta really appreciate dudes who have no idea what its like to be gay but try their best to try and relate. “we both like hot ladies” you know what, ryan? that’s close enough. i appreciate that.
again people who think bi women are cookie-cutter liberals with no history of their own really don’t know anything about bi history and have never read an actual book written by or about bi people, bisexuality, or bi history. frida kahlo was a marxist who fucking hated the united states and everything it stands for. isadora duncan was a communist who waved a red flag with her titties out on stage during her last dance tour and said “this is who i am”. josephine baker was a french anti-fascist resistance agent during WWII and a civil rights activist. marliene dietrich was a german anti-fascist and was hated in germany for her firm convictions. there, i just named you four different historical icons who were also both bisexual and leftists, off the top of my head. stop talking about bisexual women as if we’re not capable of Real radical resistance lol. we always have been.
My heart warmed up so much when I saw this angel at parade today.

this is that “when lesbians make lesbian stereotype jokes *women pointing and nodding at each other*” post in a nutshell
photographs from lesbian couples’ commitment ceremonies in the 1980′s, published in ceremonies of the heart: celebrating lesbian unions by becky butler, 1990
the most #UselessLesbian thing i have ever done was when i was trying to figure out if this girl liked me or not, just constantly arguing with myself about it, and after a couple, uh, months, of this, i was like, “god i wish i could just like… go to court and lay out all this evidence and have a couple lawyers argue over the TRUE MEANING of her text messages, and then a judge tells me if she likes me or not.” and then the proverbial lightbulb went off over my proverbial head, and i dug into my mock trial folder from high school and found the trial guidelines and i wrote out an entire trial transcript featuring a plaintiff (me), my attorney (my wildest hopes and dreams), a defense attorney (my worst fears and insecurities), and a judge (my desperate attempt at rationality). the final product was several thousand words long. it clarified nothing. at any point in this process did it occur to me to ask her how she felt about me? absolutely not. did i ever stop and think, “hey, maybe i should tell her that i like her?” absolutely not. that’s for people who take risks and i don’t take risks i take myself to court in my own head.
I’m sorry you put you thru this but I can’t help laughing
“i am sorry you put you through this” is for real the best phrase i have heard in 2018
fat happy girlfriend moodboard
Titanic where everything is the same but winona ryder plays Jack and we get to see her and Kate winslet fall in love
And they both fucking make it alive??? and grow old together. Making that “it’s been 84 years” line more iconic together???? Yes please
Winona is thinner and weighs less. Enough room on the plank for both of them w/o sinking.

Gustave Courbet, Le Sommeil,1866.
Le Sommeil [The Sleepers], which depicts two women entwined in a post-coital embrace, caused a stir when it was first shown in the 1870s. The police were called in, and the painting was not shown again until the 1980s. But its brief showing had an influence on a number of contemporary artists, and helped challenge the taboos associated with lesbian relationships. For modern audiences it’s a good reminder that people in the 19th century were not ignorant of lesbian relationships, as we tend to believe. And it’s pretty damn sexy, don’t you think?
They called the police on this lesbian painting.
