I was playing Horsey Game for the first time and I got a horse as a prize from a race that was literally Just A Dude. Bipedal, human intelligence, wearing clothes and a hat and everything. I obviously didn’t want to be a slave owner, so I let this dude go in a field somewhere.

And this dude. Fucked. EVERY. Wild horse. This human dude became the common genetic ancestor for HUNDREDS of awful fucked-up part-horse creatures. And since my rival horse farms pull from wild stock sometimes, his descendants show up in every race I join. EVERY HORSE IN THIS SAVE, except the ones I bred in isolation on my own farm, visibly shares traits with this one not-horse guy.

AND THEN, because he passed on his human level intelligence to some of his part-horse offspring, some of these unholy creatures have been FOUNDING THEIR OWN HORSE FARMS. Which are often populated by human-intelligent horse hybrid slaves!
