Also works for most of those news sites like WSJ or NYT that only let you read a little bit, or block adblockers. Also some disable the scroll bar but if you go to the right side of the console after hitting F12 and look for the CSS element “overflow” and change it from “hidden” to “visible” then you can continue scrolling for free. Might have to click around on different parts of the page to find it, but it should work.

oh man, sign-ups aren’t done but RoL currently has fewer Yuletide requests than freaking Wheel of Time. I understand why (I’m not requesting or offering it myself this year, for the first time in seven years) but…wow.

 Yuletide is an annual Christmas-centred small fandom fic exchange, where “small” is defined as fandoms with less than 1000 complete works in English across both AO3 and ff.net. For the last six or seven years Rivers of London has done very well out of it, usually being one of the top ten most-requested/offered fandoms; it’s never had less than ~30 requests. This year…not so much.

Sign-ups have just closed for Yuletide this year but if this is the first you’re hearing of it, I thoroughly recommend it! It’s a fantastic way to get and receive fic for something you’d otherwise never write or get something for, those tiny fandoms that scratch a very particular itch. It’s the reason I have so many fandoms with one fic in my AO3 profile; those are (almost all) Yuletide stories.
