It's been a long ride but I made it to graduation!!! And in honor of one of the books that inspired me to be a writer my grad cap is based on Carry On by @rainbowrowell
I'm graduating with a BA in Creative Writing and a minor in Screenwriting. 😌
And apparently, hurting my own feelings with Russian pop hits that my confused, bisexual, teenaged ass latched on to in 2005. IM JUST SAYING T.A.T.U. HAD ANOTHER BANGER THAT WOULD WORK SO GOOD FOR THIS IM JUST. SAYING.
(Yes, I know they’re IRL evil but their album was, unfortunately, a substantial background character in my queer awakening)
Two years ago, @krisrix wished for a line of Simon Snow dolls. This past year, he gave us a glimpse into a world where Simon and Baz got the animated series treatment. Inspired by his vision, I decided to mash up both concepts and bring Kris' dreams to life!
In my imagination, this version of Baz and Simon are commemorative dolls meant to slot seamlessly into the 10th Anniversary Blu-ray and merch collection that Kris envisioned. To achieve consistency of design, I leaned into every single detail.
Close-up pictures and background below the cut.
One of my favorite details about this set is the design of these boxes! Kris' gorgeous art (used with permission) allows for a seamless fit with the animated series' branding. Leaning into animation rather than realism, I designed the interior of the boxes to feel more cartoon-y as well.
I also chose to dress Simon and Baz in Watford uniforms, which may appear simple but are deceptively difficult to make because of their handcrafted details.
Both the pants and the blazer boast real pockets. The blazer is also fully lined and includes a little hanging loop.
Simon's shirt and pants are modified to include slits along the back. These allow easy access to the hardware system I rigged up for his removable wings and tail (sold separately of course!).
I sourced shoes for both dolls that match Kris' concept art as closely as possible. (I had to. Kris did A WHOLE POST about shoes!)
Although not uniform-related, these dolls are easier to dress and undress than most because they also boast moveable arms. (Yes, that's right. I figured out how to make joints!)
Also not uniform-related, but did anyone notice I finally committed to Simon's freckles? I love them.
Finally, all special edition dolls always come with fun accessories. Baz includes a violin (complete with bow and case), a bouquet of rats, and his wand. Simon includes a stick of butter, a plate of scones, and the Sword of Mages.
Kris, you are a legend in this fandom and have gifted us some truly spectacular art over the years. It was my honor to pull out all the stops to gift you back some of the most beautiful and intricate dolls I have ever created. I hope when you finally hold these boys in your hands, they bring you the same joy you’ve brought all of us so consistently. 🩷🩷🩷
At long last, here is my finished project for Carry On's 10th Anniversary 💚💜
I desperately want to live in a world where Carry On has an animated adaptation. And while I'm not capable of bringing that dream to life in its entirety, I figured I could at least I could put together product mockups for a fictitious limited edition Blu-ray release! So here it is, styled after the many wonderful anime boxsets by Sentai Filmworks~
All 24 episodes across 2 discs
Bonus disc with clean OP/EDs, outtakes, behind-the-scenes featurette & "10 Years of Carry On" anniversary special
Postcards of the main cast
42-page art book with character designs, production sketches, storyboards & more
Double-sided commemorative coin
Metallic pins of the main cast
Enamel pin of the Sword of Mages
Massive thank you to my husband, who did 90% of the 3D modeling work. And also huge thanks to him, @foolofabookwyrm-activated and @caitybug for being my sounding boards and sanity tests throughout this months-long process. I would have simply perished trying to do this all by myself. Love you guys terribly.
You can find some of the art assets used under the cut 👇
I REALLY wanted to design more of Watford than just Simon and Baz's room, but I never got the time to nail anything down, 😭 So the background in the fake screenshot of Simon and Penny is based on a shot from Maurice. RIP to all my notes on the White Chapel...

This past year has been so hectic, I haven't had the time nor the spoons to draw, 😭 I probably won't be able to keep up with all of Inktober, but when possible, I'll try to at least do a post-it note doodle or something. Fingers crossed~

Finally saw Wicked: For Good today, so here’s a Snowbaz AU, aka “I can’t control my magic and the green-loving guy I didn’t know was my dad is actually the villain and made me into one, too — thank goodness for my loathers-to-lovers roommate”
A redraw of the very first Carry On fanart I did, back in 2018, my first year in the fandom! 🥹
I won’t actually be able to participate in all of COC, but I wanted to at least give this first prompt a shot since it’s the 10 year anniversary~ So momentous! And I’m truly grateful to have found this book and community.
Speaking of the anniversary: I’ve been extremely swamped with work for the past several weeks, but I have a few days free next week, so I’ll finally be able to finish up my CO anniversary project, 🫠
