Curse of Reincarnation 1
"A YEAR!" you cringe as she yells at you, your best friend and adoptive sister yelling at you after you've returned from the Devildom. She'd always been a bit of an emotional person, but when you walked into your shared house that your parents left you she'd cried and hugged you and the moment the relief you were alive passed, she was furious. "Please, tell me! Tell me why you disappear and a week later in the mail I get a letter from some school that DOESN'T SEEM TO EXIST that you're their new exchange student and that you'll be back in a year?! Give a good fucking excuse for all the bullshit i went through this year!" her voice breaks at the last words, blue eyes gleaming, blonde hair spilling into her face as she cries again, desperate and scared for you.
instead of answering right away you get off the couch and hug her tight, trying to ease her trembling with your presence. "RAD isn't fake." you finally murmur gently, when she's stopped shaking so much. "You couldn't find it because it's not even in the human realm." she goes stiff in your arms.
"Not. In. The human realm?" she asks quietly, voice breathy, pausing.
"m-hmm. It sounds unbelievable, but it's so crazy. Leigh, demons and angels are real!" he pull back and tells her the most summarized version of it all you can manage, so excited, as she looks shocked and she can't seem to fully accept what you're saying, it makes your excitement dim a bit and then its silent for a few beats.
"I-I'm sorry, I think I need some time to process." she whispers, lowering her head and holding it. You feel guilty, it was a lot to accept when you were there, so it must be way harder to believe as a normal person who'd never been there.
"I'll go buy some food for dinner tonight, you go lay down." you murmur, moving to grab some cash from her wallet, mentally making an IOU to remember to pay her back, a habit you started having to do with Mammon. Leigh still hadn't moved when you left the house, locking the door behind you.

As the door lock sounded, she dropped her hands and she dropped the act. Her shocked expression wasn't a total act, but now she stood and yanked her hair loose entirely, looking to the side at the mirror in the living room, eyes burning with rage as it fell around her face. My descendant?" she whispers to no one in particular, fully turning to the mirror. "first you go after us, and now you've gone after my descendant? And for an exchange student program? for the sake of peace or something?" she scoffs at her reflection, looking over herself and remembering that she used to look. then she smirks to herself, the anger fading away from everything but her eyes. "Well, two can play this game. You took what's dear to me away once, you won't get anyone else. I've gotten her back not Diavolo, and this time I'm keeping her.'' She ties her hair back again and after one last look at herself, she turns from the mirror. and her reflection shows a split second of snow white wings on her back, something consistent over her many lives and something no one has ever noticed for how short of a time they show for.
