In the mystical Taihang Mountains, where magic flows and powerful yao roam, Hongjun has grown up sheltered from the human world. A half-yao himself, he’s never had reason to leave—until the mountain’s ruler sends him on a dangerous mission: hide his true nature and join the Great Tang Department of Demonic Exorcism in Chang’an.
Upon arriving in the bustling capital, Hongjun meets Li Jinglong, a luckless soldier with no spiritual power tasked with leading a team of extraordinary exorcists. Together, they and their enigmatic companions must face the dark forces threatening the city. But as a bond begins to bloom between Hongjun and Li Jinglong, Hongjun wonders: Can he trust Li Jinglong with the truth of who—and what—he is?
A HANDY CHART FOR THOSE OF YOU WONDERING WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THESE. NOTE THAT THESE ARE ALL THE INFORMAL AND YOU IS THE FORMAL SO LIKE YOU WOULD ALWAYS ADDRESS YOUR SUPERIOR/ OLDER PERSON/ SOCIAL BETTER WITH YOU BUT WITH YOUR BUDS YOU CAN USE THESE.

reminder to visit museums, even if you feel out of place. you feel out of place because there is an established concept of inaccessibility of "high culture" to the masses, purposefully developed to distinguish between social classes.
take up space, read the plaques, get the audioguides. you are just as entitled and right in being there. visit museums, boycott museums, be expressive about your opinions about museums.
a lot of museums are free, or discounted for youth and students. take advantage of that. check your local art museum. check your local history museum. museums are there for you, they are there to educate the public, not to distinguish between class. it isn't a private collection, it's a public exhibit.
'Take up space' OK but this is so important, because that's your museum, that's your gallery, and if you want to spend half an hour staring at one painting that makes your soul feel all tingly, then you can absolutely do that, and don't let anyone make you feel weird for doing anything other than spending 10 seconds looking at something and then dismissing it with a sardonic grin

one of my favorite bits in lord of the rings is something the movies didn't really try to do because it's entirely internal, but sam's carrying the ring and it starts trying to do its work on him, so he's having these intrusive visions of himself marching at the head of a vast and terrible army, and he just starts laughing because, me? samwise gamgee? sam gamgee the general sam gamgee the dark lord are you for real? man i just want to go home and do some gardening. and the ring gets frustrated and it starts trying to figure out other stuff that would actually tempt sam and it's finally like, okay, but hear me out: imagine if you could have...A REALLY REALLY BIG GARDEN
TIL the reason you don’t find much Lyme’s Disease in California is not because we don’t have Ticks, or Lyme Disease Vectors; but rather: because the Western Fence Lizard (if you live anywhere in California this is your regular Garden Variety Lizard) has adapted a passive immune response that makes their blood lethal to Lyme Disease Bacteria. Any Tick that feeds on one gets its gut cleansed of Lyme Disease as a side effect.
There is a new vaccine going into Phase 3 trials from Valneva and Pfizer as well as a monoclonal antibody-based prophylactic treatment being researched at UMass!

General spoilers for FFXIV throughout. Beware!
we gotta get back to torrent distribution, i just watched someone eat eight grand in bandwidth charges because they ran a direct-download piracy site with local file hosting through cloudflare. torrents were invented literally for this exact reason
Recipient of a third-degree burn in front of witnesses. IE, "I won't take that shit from a man dressed like a ghostbuster"= "Gostbuster" or "Buster"
A distinctive personal feature or quirk. IE, "Have you noticed how that new guy is always eating bell peppers?" = "Peppers", or "That chick has a massive forehead" = "Forehead".
An embarrassing thing you said or did. IE, "Did you seriously call Dale "Dad"?" = "Junior", "Baby boy", "Sport"
A game of name-mutation telephone. IE, "Donny Clyde" = "Bonnie 'n' Clyde" = "Bonnie" = "Bon-bon".
Irony. IE, calling a tall person "short stack" or a particularly dour person "sunshine".
A 'wrong place wrong time' one-off incident. IE, "He spilled oil on his pants and had to borrow a pair that were way too big and Jim saw him with the waistband pulled up to his nipples and called him 'Parachute'"
A batman-style origin story but not in a cool way: "One time she hit a deer with the company car and when she called the boss to tell her she was crying so hard we thought she was dying" = "Bambi"
The incredibly rare 'admiration' nickname, bourne only once a millennia under the light of the blood moon: "We saw him lift a truck once so now we call him 'iron man'"
This reminds me of an article about how callsigns in movies are inaccurate because they're too cool. Generally your callsign in the military is like "Bepis" because you once pronounced "Pepsi" wrong.
I know this might be a little bit of an unusual question but I'm going to ask anyway (obv feel free to ignore if this makes you uncomfortable <3)
Do you have any tips/advice on how to deal with body dysmorphia regarding weight? I know I might spend too much time on social media but I have recently become obsessed with not only working out but also losing weight. I feel like I'm not skinny enough even though I am absolutely normal weight, I don't like how my body looks in the mirror and I feel so quilty and bad for eating something "unhealthy".
How do I deal with this? How can I just, I don't know, accept myself for what I look like?
Heya, don't feel bad! I feel like a lot of trans masc folks (I am making an assumption here about your gender ID, but the below advice is pretty gender neutral) fall into a mindset where being thin is a shortcut to passing.
A few things come to mind:
1) If you are genuinely worried you have an ED, seek a therapist to give you the tools to break out of harmful thought patterns.
2) There may be something else about your silhouette that is making you fixate on your weight. If you are into lifting, maybe focusing on your chest and shoulders will help you achieve a shape you like. You actually may need to bulk up elsewhere to balance out your core. A personal trainer will go a long way to help you figure out what muscle groups to target.
3) If you really do aspire to a lean look, remember that this takes years to achieve, and you can look lean but actually be a larger number on the scale than when you started. Again, try working with a professional trainer -- many trans men have gotten into this field.
4) Since you like working out, focus on how you physically feel vs how you look. I am 40 lbs heavier than when I was pre-T, and yeah, I struggle with belly fat that makes me feel bad sometimes. *But* I also remember how easy it was for me to catch a cold/flu when I was 120lbs, and how much stronger, faster, and more endurance I have now. I am healthier at age 49 than I ever was at 21.
Applications of practical fitness may help you here -- playing a sport, doing manual labor at work or around the house, hiking, etc.
5) Stay away from clothes that hug the body - go for classic, roomier cuts. I am so much happier after having thrown out my skinny jeans and shirts. (This is why I dress in 1940s style -- my clothes do the work of creating the body silhouette I like, which means my body doesn't have to be perfect. There's lot of other styles than do the same with more structured clothing. Workwear as a casual example.)
6) Cultivate gender envies that share a lot in common physically with you. Reduce your social media time. Remember how much dehydration and unhealthy eating goes into the superhero physique we see in movies.
When you do come across healthily shredded dudes, remember how much time and consistency they devote to their bodies (and for many of them, being in that shape is their *job*) -- you likely have different priorities in your life. So, indulge in those priorities!
7) Follow fat people on social media, especially those with the same interests as you (I follow a lot of fat fashion guys - they look cool and much of their practical style advice still applies to me). Especially listen to them when they choose to talk about fatness and body positivity.
Bodies are naturally diverse, and if you're only consuming content from skinny people, it becomes harder to dismantle your own fat phobia. And while you shouldn't just care about fat folks because one day you, too, may be overweight, it is a possibility that's worth remembering.
8) Learn to enjoy cooking to help build a healthier relationship with food. Become more curious about different cuisine types. While I don't like the concept of "good" and "bad" food, home cooking has really helped my partner and I with portion size, eating enough fruits & veggies, and reducing how much red meat we consume. (Also with reducing food waste.)
A burger isn't inherently a "bad" food for us, but because we have found some meatless dishes we *really* enjoy (like roasted veggie salad), it becomes a very easy diet shift of "both these things are tasty, but one is healthier, so we're just going to make the other one less frequent".
-----
There are many people much more experienced than I who can talk about how to cultivate a kinder relationship with your body in the gym and in the kitchen, and to like what you see in the mirror.
Other folks are absolutely welcome to chime in. These are just my thoughts as someone who used to be super skinny and now has a "dad bod" and struggles with it sometimes.
Oh!
I am currently repairing my relationship with food, and my body both in terms of accepting the way my shape has changed and that my disability impacts what I can do! I'm going to use "you" (the royal you?) to address the Anon. I'm a little scrambled so this is more stream of thoughts than organized list.
All of Nicholas's advice is really good, so this is mostly supplementary to that.
It may be helpful to try to embrace something closer to Body Neutrality than aggressive self love of your body is hard for you to accept. Here is a short write up on the differences. While over all Body Positivity seems to be "better" with big air quotes, which ever approach you feel is obtainable for you will be better than self flagellation.
I started with a body neutral approach (a body is neither good nor bad, it is a body) which let me reach a state of appreciation for my body and what is can currently do. Every ones journey with this is different, even if you never make the shift to body positivity, being able to see your body in a non-negative light will help. It does take time and practice, especially since the late 90s early 00's heroin chic is coming back into the cultural zeitgeist. The point about following folks who are fat is a *must* and unfollow any one who makes you feel bad about your size, IMO.
Following people who talk about food and actively work to promote healthier relationships with food is also good I think, YMMV but I have found The Plant Slant on Youtube to be pretty refreshing, but prioritize following bigger bodied and fat people. If you are currently tracking your food, which it sounds like you are, focus instead of raw calorie count focus on your macros and hitting those how you would like. If you are using an App and it has a weight loss goal setting, set it to the *slowest* possible loss goal. I don't know you, so I don't feel comfortable providing specific dietary advise beyond this, if you focus on getting enough protein and fiber per day, I find the rest more easily follows. But I would really encourage you from putting down the counting apps for a while until you feel more in control of how you see yourself. The first time I fell down that rabbit hole and it became a problem it was because I was using calorie counting as a way to ignore my lack of control in my money situation.
Re: Working out and movement.
I'm going to actively recommend John Noel's youtube channel, as his shorts have several variations for different levels of ability with movements.
https://www.youtube.com/@coachjohnnoel
Also, for me it is helpful to have not weight related goals if fitness/movement is a thing you want to invest in. For example my personal goal is to get back to being able to squat over 100lbs. It could be if you want to be able to run a mile without stopping, etc. Remember an injury is going to set you back much harder and farther than you taking the rest days you should. Most fitness/activity related goals you can easily find starter programs for (couch to 5k is a famous running related one for example) but having a practical activity to link it to will also help. I started lifting again because I wanted to feel more confident in my roller skating!
If I think of anything else I'll reblog this and add the thoughts, but my closing thought is after you curate your social media followings. Remove your socials from your phone. Only access them via computer, even if only for a few months. Replace where those apps where on your phone with a reader app ( shout out to https://libbyapp.com , free books!) , a brain teaser game, almost anything other than social media. Get something to help you moderate your screen time, https://focusfriend.me/ is popular right now.
