lewis: it's amazing to have her come this weekend and have the support. but, you know, with my friends - incredible turnout just overall with people. and, yeah, i don't really know what else to say… it’s amazing to have good people around you and good people supporting you. and, you know, she does that for me every day.

lewis: six wins. i’ve been here a long time and still haven't got to his level on that. but i'm going to be here for a while, so i’ll keep chasing it. and just to be in his presence in the sense of the eight podiums, for example, is very cool. i still remember being young and watching ayrton and still today he is still my favorite driver. so it's really cool.

also sorry to bring it up again and again and again. but amongst all this kimi talk i would love us again to acknowledge that in lewis’s first ever year in f1 he scored 9 successive podiums. he became the first ever driver to finish on the podium in their first 3 races (and went on to get 9) and was leading the world championship by his third race. he took 6 races to win (at a track he’d never raced at before) and won 4 races in total in his first year (including a generational win in the rain). he beat the reigning two time world champion and lost the championship due to a faulty gearbox. like you will never. ever. be him
