It was not a big deal, Frank thought. Sure he had been getting an excessive, spam-like amount of texts and phone calls, but he was sure it was just a prank from one of the mischievous medical assistants on the unit or a dumb teenager who visited one of the patients here. He could handle it.

Lying on a hospital gurney in the ER later, Frank sighed. Who would’ve thought he’d have a stalker and how fast things would spiral out of control.

Dr Shen definitely made the first move with Langdon. Langdon had tried for MONTHS to make a first move…but in fairness to him he had a plan. He was gonna start off slow by making small talk with Shen and THEN working up to regular talk. By month three they would have hit the hanging out stage.

I like to think Langdon genuinely has this level of overthinking BUT hides it semi well under a mask of humor

John saw Frank and after the first three interactions was like “I’m gonna ask that guy out.” (It low key derailed Langdon’s plan but I mean a date is a date…)

OOHOHO EXCELLENT. yeah, no, Langdon is... deep sigh. langdon is a quick thinker and has a lot of initiative when it comes to his profession, but his interpersonal relationships are a bit (lot) trickier for him to navigate. considering i generally place his pursuing anyone else post-separation/divorce, we also have to factor in that his failed marriage would probably make him even likelier to overthink.

he either over- or underthinks (?? lmao), but he definitely feels a lot! and he's not just gonna screw this up, also because he's a white man named frank in his early 30s with two children under the four, i can't even guess how often he's tried/succeeded to pursue men in the first place. like, who's got the time!!!

but john? oooh john is just amazing. john is just confident. he's chill. he has his worries, of course, and he's not indifferent to things, but he figures out his approaches calmly, tries to see the good side and silver-line, doesn't seem like he's gonna screw himself over about something like this, he's more level-headed!

john is clocking out and he stops frank in the hall and while frank is taking a visible deep breath and preparing himself to figure out how to not fuck up this random round of a conversation likely related to patients and stuff, john whips out a 'so when does your shift end? if you want we could grab a drink after, i'll set my alarm, come pick you up. what do you say?'

i do believe frank's initial response would be the weirdest face scrunch and 'what?' as he fails to process any single part of it.

So per the showrunners, Langdon will be the POV character next season, as we'll be catching up with the cast through him catching up on what he missed on his ten-month rehab sabbatical.

Our sequence-breaking flashbacks will be of how his life fell apart and came back together, won't they. :)
