the infuriating thing is that there is genuinely so much good queer literature out there, contemporary and not, but there is also a sizeable chunk of readers who think that a book only "counts" as good queer literature if it's a) unproblematic, b) contains romance as its central focus, and c) has the characters state their orientation and/or gender identity directly to the audience using socially acceptable 21st-century terms (as opposed to resorting to cowardly tactics such as Subtext and Themes)
white americans when you tell them that the idea of climate change as an impending disaster is a reductive first world perspective because it’s a tangible reality for many in the global south already:
maybe if you see south and southeast asians dying in the heat and latin americans dying in floods and all you think of is imagining a reality where YOU are affected, then you should rethink how you see people of color. if you cannot see climate change as a real disaster until it is other americans dying in the heat and the floods and not just black and brown people, then don’t talk about climate change until you can acknowledge the grim reality of climate change for everyone.
there are a lot of female characters where you can say that lesbian sex would fix them but it's kind of even more fun when it wouldn't. like clearly she wants to be having it but it would make everything worse and ruin her life. and i would like to see it.
i think people are starting to confuse class analysis with bioessentialism. like... no not all men do this, but Men as a constructed social class do do this. that's still okay to say. that is regular material analysis of the world around us.
"problematic trans women are really cool" im sorry i think what you mean to say is "i think trans women should be able to make mistakes and still be loved afterwards"
yes this includes the trans women you don't like. there is no mistake or thing a trans woman can say that makes her irredeemable or unlovable or deserving of isolation
this applies especially to trans women who have entire cadres of people harassing them for months or years on end, like patricia taxxon, mordred euniexenoblade, miss forcefem, etc.. call it controversial, but i really don't think any of those women even remotely deserve ANY of the shit they've been put through. what if you just let these women live their lives. what if you did that. wouldn't that be something?
like, fuck. haven't weirdos been going after lily orchard for over ten fucking years? transmisogyny is institutional, it is everywhere, it is vile and insidious and rancid. but for some, it's a fucking hobby. you don't hate on a tranny you don't like for 10 years without fucking enjoying it. need i repeat myself when i say that trans women are harassed for sport? it isn't about justice, or safety, or whatever they claim it's about; because it's about entertainment.
if it's terminal im just gonna say fuck it and become a porn star
did y'all forget about my go fund me and the breast lumps i found? its okay if ya did cuz i've been talking about transfeminism instead and fundraising for others. 🫂💞
i need to update it. we still are looking for housing in Portland but now we have medicaid to tide us over and that will be easy to switch to OHP once there. our current housing is no longer safe and we need out asap.
Hi there, my name is Victoria (or V) and I've made this campaign t… Victoria Morris needs your support for Help V and Andrea Move to Portlan

ursula k le guin affirmations for your day:
it is our differences which make us dearer to one another
it is never too late to start loving
the enemy is not the foreigner, but the ones who tell you to hate the foreigner
everyone should have food, shelter, and work
everything is a yin and yang metaphor if you try hard enough

I love any variation on the joke of like "able bodied... for now" "not disabled. Yet" etc etc I love that it sounds like a threat and then we get to be like And why is that threatening to you, hmm. Now they feel like kind of a bad person. I am going to break their legs though so that's understandable
Why are you so afraid of having a body like mine, huh? Sounds like you have a lot of biases to unlearn and reflect on what societal ideas you've internalized that make you feel that way <- holding a comically large hammer behind my back
Like the truth of it is everyone will acquire some form of disability eventually if they live long enough, right. Because I'm out there. I'm coming
Images that go hard as fuck
It's always "stop harming yourself or we'll have to lock you up!!!" and never "what do you need to change to want to harm yourself less and how can we help you make some of these changes?" and that's why we're not getting anywhere
Help a trans gal find a home ! (04/24/26)
Hi I'm Rhea, trans girl currently living in Chicago and deeply unemployed (hopefully not for much longer we shall see), and I need to find a place to live within approximately the next month while I continue getting back on my feet in a new city. I have a little black cat named Harrowhark that I adore very much and while I'm a bit of a loner at times I'll also do my best to be helpful around the space. I am unfortunately just in a really bad spot and really need some help.
Please spread this around if you can and please DM me if you have any leads for anything. If you're willing to help me afford foods and meds in the meantime please do so using one of these, it would be deeply appreciated:

Thank you very much 💕
(05/19/26) Okay I got my timeline wrong and have until the end of June~ or so but alas the office job I've been in contact with has been stringing me along and I don't have many prospects still yet alas
Recipes from Portland's famous but long-closed Rheinlander restaurant. This cookbook was produced in a limited window before Chef Mager's death. All of these fucking slap.
For my fellow vegan/vegetarians, these sound scrumptious and look pretty simple to make substitutions!
just to be clear
certified soup post
It's sooo good
The lentil soup post is yeah beyond amazing. I know lentil soup doesn't seem like it could be that good. You simply don't Know how beloved the rheinlander lentil soup was. This was a famous soup here.
I don’t generally do any sort of advocacy things on here, but this one hits (literally) close to home.
We are getting into the final days of signing the Water Not Coal petition here in Alberta. If you are a citizen of Alberta, I urge you to find somewhere to sign this. If you’re not Albertan, I am begging you to reblog this so we can get enough signatures. We have until June 10th. You can read about it here:
Join Corb Lund and thousands of Albertans to prohibit coal mining in the Rocky Mountains. Sign the citizen initiative petition.
Please save my home, my mountains, my water.
48 hours left! There’s still time to sign- lots of places on the Water Not Coal website!! Tomorrow evening, if you’re in Edmonton, you can head over to Southbound Brewing to grab a beer and get your signature out there!!
