Hey dears :( I’ve just been gone because of some…. pretty bad depression-related issues. Things are a little complicated right now and I’m not sure I can guarantee anything as things stand, but if all goes well then I probably will be back sometime soon hopefully.

Levi considers that for a moment, then wipes down the counter with the back of his glove just to be sure he’s not left any dabs or epithelial cells for the cops to pick up. “Fine. Thanks for all your help,” he says, picking up the bag and putting it over his shoulder.

He calmly walks out of the bank, putting the gun in the holster at the base of his back as he goes, and wanders out of the doors onto the street. His car’s parked up nearby, so he strolls over to it, slipping into the drivers seat with the cash on the passenger’s, and pulls away, heading for Zoe’s lab to remove the dye packs.

Another job well done - Freckles had done exactly as he was told, and Levi’s now $25,000 richer for it. Thanks kid, he says to himself as he cruises out onto the highway.

“Have a good day, sir,” he lets out weakly, watching the retreating back of the man as he leaves. 

The second the other walks out the door, the world suddenly seems to spiral rapidly and his head meets the counter with a resounding ‘crack.’

Marco comes to as concerned co-workers shake him awake, and he soon finds himself being asked a number of questions by the police, of which he tries to answer as best as he can. Eventually, they let him go, and his manager decides to let him have the rest of the day off given the circumstances.

The trip home isn’t extraordinarily far, though by the time he leaves, he catches rush hour traffic. He finds himself rather fatigued and generally distracted, fingers tapping nervously on his steering wheel as he waits for the pile-up of cars to start moving.There’s a string of coffee shops along the street down from the bank, and the fact reminds him that maybe a coffee at his favourite café could help with the tiredness. Maybe lessen his nerves, or something of the sort.

Even though the immediate danger of a crazy, bank-robbing gunman was long gone, just thinking about it made the anxiety and fear come rushing back in an instant. There was no way he could forget that face, with that chilling but clearly threatening expression. He decides then, that coffee was maybe a good idea.

Eventually, the traffic gets moving and he makes his way out to Maria’s, a local café that was fairly well-known for their sweets and perfectly roasted coffee. When he arrives there, he orders his usual drink, offering a smile and thanks as he takes the warm cup in his hands.

Marco finds a seat in the corner next to the glass windows of the coffee shop, letting out a sigh as he closes his eyes, taking the first sip of his coffee.

Well, if that wasn’t a clear admittance of mischievous behaviour, he didn’t know what was. As Jean backs away,  Marco ominously inches closer.

"No! It’s an utterly terrible, horrible picture that needs to be burned, Jean.”

 After a few moments of intense glaring, he suddenly pauses as a rather brilliant idea comes to mind.

"… Alright, you know what? I’ll completely forgive you and forget this ever happened… on one condition, though."

As they chat idly between themselves, a moment of silence elapses and Marco suddenly remembers something, eyes widening as a thought comes to mind.

“Oh---! Erm…. there was something I wanted to give you, actually,” he starts, fingers retreating into his pocket.

They reappear as he holds out a small pocket knife flat on his palm. Under the light, detailed carvings on the wooden handle are easily distinguishable, the words “Vires acquirit eundo” alongside intricate patterns and what appears to be the military police insignia.

Marco flashes a nervous smile, ruffling his dark hair with his free hand.

“I know it isn’t until tomorrow, and this isn’t much but… happy birthday, Jean.”

well, it’s been six months. six months since i first made this blog and started roleplaying as a character i originally never would have thought of playing. over these past six months, not only have i grown personally as a roleplayer, but i believe my writing has as well. you all have made my experience here wonderful despite how shitty this fandom can be at times, and i have made the best friends i could ever ask for. i honestly couldn’t ask for more — despite my periods of inactivity, my likely annoying ooc spams that occur from time to time, and those really bad replies i often spit out, over 800 of you follow me. i’m blown away; without you all and without all the support from fellow roleplayers, i may not have made it this far. i have no words for how much i love you all.

Marco casually pulls out his phone, opening up his Facebook profile picture before showing him the screen. It’s a picture of himself sprawled haphazardly over his bed… drool, bed hair, unflattering angle and all. Run and hide Jean, it has 84 likes and he’s squinting at you real hard right now.

Jean sighs in relief as his friend trotted towards him. Just being in the other boys presence, the sandy haired male began to feel a little more at ease. Marcos touch felt warm through his shirt; Comforting and reassuring. “Yeah, s’pose it won’t…”

He nudges his friend in the side before heading down the trail. It was already half past noon, and the days were growing steadily shorter, “How long is this trail or whatever?” Jean asks, slowing to allow his friend to catch up to him. 

The trail had clearly not been walked, or taken care of by anyone, in quite some time. Debris from a summer storm lay everywhere. Not the type you’d see around a neighborhood, or in a city, but the type only a forest can create. The twigs and rocks crunched and snapped beneath the boys feet. “You hear about that crazy virus crap?” he mumbles, trying to keep conversation up, “Connie says he saw a guy bite another guy in the face at the mall last weekend…” he shrugs, “probably a load of shit, but ya know…”

Footfalls follow closely behind the tawny-haired man, pace soon matching the other’s as he catches up.

“This one? It’s 11 kilometers to the top, but there’s a peak around 6 kilometers in if you feel like taking a stop for some sightseeing. It’s really something though, I think you’d like it. You can see a lot of the lakes and mountains around here, even just at the half-way point.”

The smile on his face widens at the thought. It was an older trail, but it still was quite the scenic one despite the condition it was in the off-season. Clusters of trees towered high above them, providing decent shade… not that a lot of sun would be an issue now, but it was nice to keep cooler as the trail begins to steepen. The faces of flat rock inclined rather steadily as they tread further, though from what he remembered, it’d only get more difficult as they continue to head up.

His head tilts thoughtfully at the question, eyes leaving the trail to look at the other.

Marco wasn’t one to buy into the media’s disease mongering, but the topic had been becoming a lot more prevalent in the past while. Strange things like that had been making headlines for weeks now -- and alongside the conspiracy theories springing about, he honestly wasn’t too sure what to make of it all. He took general precautions to his cleanliness and tried to share his food and drinks less, but that was about it, really.

“Well, honestly? It all sounds like something out of a movie, ” he says candidly, scratching his head. “I haven’t really seen anything myself, but it’s been a lot on the news these days. What do you gather from all of it?”

In the darkness of the early morning, faint sounds of snickering follows the figure of a freckled teen making his way to Jean’s bed, a pair of faux sideburns in hand. His breaths quiet as he leans over to carefully place them on his face, and Marco almost loses it at the sight, muffling a fit of laughter into the back of his hand as he begins to crawl off the bed. Unfortunately for him, the movement leads to a leg shifting a fraction too high, effectively kneeing the brunet square in the groin.

You knew it had been a long day, when nothing woke the boys up. Training had worn them all down to exhaustion and most had passed out before their heads even hit their pillows. Which was the case with Jean. He was sprawled out on his back, one leg dangling off the edge of the bunk, slack jawed and lightly snoring. It was a heavy sleep with good dreams of life inside Sida, well good until a sharp pain radiated through him and he felt like barfing. "F-Fuck!"Hazel eyes snapped open, body curling up out of instinct, while one hand groped in the dark for the shadowy shape looming over him. No matter how sick with pain he felt, he wasn’t about to let this go without a fight. "I told you to leave me alone, Connie! I’m gonna murder you!" He hissed furiously, rolling over and hooking an arm around the mystery trainees neck, pinning them down and raising his fist, about ready to knock some sense into them when—

"Marco?” He cringed, another wave of pain and nausea running through him, "What the hell, man!”

Knowing it’s Marco does two things to Jean. Makes him more irritated that his friend would ‘betray’ him like this, and a little less reluctant to knock him in the jaw. Though, don’t think he isn’t already planning on ways to get payback.

"What are you doing?” He growls, glancing around to the other bunks to make sure no one else was awoken by the brief scuffle. One hand curls into his shirt, tugging him down and forcing him to stay as he eyes him suspiciously, “You creeping on me while I sleep, Bodt?”

As he stares wide-eyed into the other’s eyes, he can’t help but feel a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. It was beginning to look like his cover’s been utterly blown, and Jean’s terrifying glare only seems to be intensified in the darkness. He decides to do what any other sane man would do…. deny it vehemently, in a last ditch effort to save himself. Marco shakes his head furiously.

“No, no way! I must’ve been sleep walking!” he exclaims in a whisper, almost convincingly if not for his eye twitching at that very moment.

He tries his hardest not to concentrate on the pieces of faux hair adorning Jean’s face, but it was just.. so completely hilarious in combination with his peeved expression that it captures his attention — just for a second, but that’s all it takes. His lips tremble as he barely holds back a fit of laughter at the sight, and he can only hope it comes off as nerves rather than guilt or anything of the sort.

“So, uh, do you mind… letting go there, Jean?” he manages, vaguely gesturing at his shirt.
