Summary:

"And I am not sure how much you care about my opinion, but for what is worth, I think you are becoming an intelligent, beautiful young woman, and I am so glad Miles gets to be friends with someone like you." For a second, Gwen wasn't sure what to say, or rather, how to react. Gripping the skirt of her uniform, she couldn't help but feel emotional. Maybe was the fact that it was the first time anyone told her something like that to her; Norman Osborn never liked her; and the Parkers were like family to her, yet it was always, oh what are you two up to? (Which, granted, made sense with how mischievous and creative she could get, but still.) Perhaps was how her dad was never good with words, much less regarding her becoming a woman as a trans person, especially without her mom around; who never got a chance to ever speak of what she could have thought of it. She still remembers to this day that awful thought she used to have, if she could actually become a woman when she didn't even have a mom to guide her to it. So it really made a lot to her to hear that she was doing a good job already, even if it was part of a lie. Gwen wanted to continue pretending for a little longer, that she could be this amazing girl this sweet woman insisted she was. Someone to be proud of. . . . Or Gwen is realizing she may be becoming softer now, but that doesn't necessarily had to be a bad thing.
