Soil. 🐛 ⠀⠀ My phone almost autocorrected the word soil to soul. ⠀⠀ I agree. The soil IS our soul. ⠀⠀ I’ve always felt so deeply connected with the Earth, too. My face lights up in the most basic childish joy when my hands are in the soil, when my lungs are filled with the breath of a tree. 🌳 ⠀⠀ These little figures some of my classmates made 2 weeks ago in my forest ecology class. We made them just from clay loam soils found in a local forest. They hardened & are now permanent fixtures in my home! 😍 ⠀⠀ Soil is ALIVE, and we destroy it constantly through our irresponsible agricultural practices that are hell-bent on pumping out insane production at a great cost. ⠀⠀ Soil is a non renewable resource, and when we mistreat it, we reduce the quality of the available product, and we release carbon emissions into the atmosphere. ⠀⠀ We have the opportunity to improve our souls, I mean soils (man that autocorrect!!), through more sustainable and less industrial agricultural practices. ⠀⠀ We are all connected. 💞🌿 How can you help?
