Thinking about... secret agent/highly intelligent whumpees... when they're too emotionally overwhemled that they experience a temporary loss of speech they'd type morse code on caretaker's back...
Sure we all love it when caretaker asks "are you okay" and stoic whumpee goes "I'm fine" when clearly not. But what if whumpee is so out of it that they just shake their head and lean on caretaker's chest.
Stoic whumpee not being able to bite down whimpers because they have a thermometer in their mouth. mmhm.
Regression. Because being next to caretaker makes them feel safe and accepted. Bonus points if it's a PTSD espisode (bonus bonus when the issue is related to the caretaker) + illness. Bonus bonus bonus if they're embarassed and ashamed of their current situation but can't help feeling safe in caretaker's arms.
Me: *gets a new fave*
Me: Great. I want to see him puke 'til he cries.
*nervous chuckles*
alien/otherwise different species caretaker encountering whumpee with an illness they've never seen before and assuming whumpee is dying
whumpee trying to comfort caretaker who believes whumpee is dying
caretaker feeling guilty that whumpee is using their limited energy to soothe their worries that whumpee is dying
Physical whump for one and emotional whump for the other my beloved
When caretaker's super worried and keeps asking whumpee what's wrong so they have to breathe through the discomfort and stutter out their symptoms even though they're embarassed by it
After wandering around some kink tags and communities I think that instead of saying I have any specific "kink" I'd rather say that I choose the kind of scenario that maximizes vulnerability exposure and wrecks the specific type of whumpee who always need to be in control, composed and are in denial of their feelings and human needs. Yeah sure my favorite sickfic type is GI related stuff but I'm not actually into emeto or scat in a detail specific way because I don't like graphic descriptions of these things. But I like the ingredient of losing control and pain and vulnerability that they bring.
the moment when whumpee just gives up and starts sobbing from discomfort and exhaustion and humiliation and caretaker just holds them closer and whisper "poor thing..."
Make them so sick and pathetic it's a little disrespectful to the character
Me: who the fuck decided to wire me with kinks as abnormal and disgusting and inhuman as this I'm diabolic and should go to hell
Also me: Hell that felt good
A character looks at another who is clearly not doing well- at the extremis of exhaustion, in emotional tatters, minorly but miserably ill, waterlogged, pervadingly chilled, looking like they've been dragged backwards through a hedge or several- and just opens their arms and says to them "Come here-" which is all the invitation the woebegone character needs to fall into their companion's arms to be wrapped in their embrace.
Just. A whumpee in the throes of a viciously high fever; lying limp on their bed with sweat clinging to their clothes and glinting on their pale face, their breathing laboured and uneven, eyes half open and glazed, seeing nothing; the only sound or movement a faint moan of pain once in a while and their head tossing restlessly on the pillow, a crease between their brows and cracked lips forming soundless words as they grasp fitfully at the air...
There's something about easily-embarrassed whumpee and completely-accepting caretaker. Like *I don't care you messed up the place. I don't think it's gross. All that matters is making you feel better. Aww, you're cute when you blush, but it's really fine okay?*
Palpating.
That's it that's the post.
Best caretaker line of all times is "I've got you."
