y'all can stop sending me asks about whether i consider femboy a slur btw, this is stupid fucking discourse. just like any other label it is okay to use for yourself, be it as a gender non conforming guy, a non binary person or even a transfem, but just randomly applying it to other people is obviously shitty and can be done with derogatory intent. most use of the word, especially in queer spaces, such as on tumblr, is self describing or about people who self describe as such. you don't have to be comfortable with the term yourself, or with being called that, but that doesn't mean other people using it for themselves or referring to people who use it for themselves is somehow derogatory. we also don't have discourse about whether tomboy is a slur now do we?

Assuming for a second that AdMech are indeed as disproportionately popular with transgender fans as more tolerable parts of warhammer meme culture would suggest, it does seem like a very natural thing. The alignment of transhuman and transgender in the act of reshaping your body and all that.

But it does always feel to me like there is a certain... vibe that goes further than that. A compelling thematic connection, not reliant on the immortality of the machine. Something about the way Adeptus Mechanicus are often presented as the ones who are so clearly mistaken, their religion seen as absurd both in and out of universe, stemming from delusion rather than insight. Something about most human characters of the setting seeing them as alien and off-putting and them reveling in all the things that make them this way.

Something about being this... creature, so weird and abhorrent to normalcy, that has so willingly abandoned acceptance of others in pursuit of some bizarre truth? Being inexorably drawn towards a journey of which most others will never hear the call? Being pitied for the perceived unmaking of self, while knowing, in your heart of hearts that it is through it that you have discovered the very secret of creation?

Could anyone possibly relate to that, I wonder.

Ariel School UFO Sighting

Over two decades ago (Sept 14th, 1994) 62 students from a remote elementary school in Ruwa, Zimbabwe saw something very strange. A silver object descended from the sky and onto their school-yard. Many kids ran away while others “stood transfixed at the strange events unfolding before their eyes.”

All the children (ages 5-12) were asked to draw what they saw, as they were the only witnessess of what happened. Of all the drawings, 22 of them were very clear and very similar to each other. They all depicted a “flying saucer” and a strange humanoid creature. It’s also important to note that many of these kids did not have media access.

Cynthia Hind, a South African MUFON field investigator was called and asked to help out in this case. She interviewed all the kids and asked them all questions.

“The children vary in cultures: there are black, white, coloured and Asian children. One little girl said to me, ‘I swear by every hair on my head and the whole Bible that I am telling the truth.’ I could see the pleasure on her face when I told her that I believed her. The smaller children from 5-7 years were very frightened at the time and ran shouting ‘Help me, help me.’ When the older children asked why they were saying this, the reply was, ‘He is coming to eat us.’ I should think this applied more to the black African children who have legends of _tokoloshies_ eating children.” 

This case remains unexplained for the most part. Some skeptics have brushed it off as mass-hysteria while other skeptics believe it to be a school yard prank. All the kids that were interviewed had similar stories and descriptions of what transpired.
