one thing it is imperative to know about the television show Widow’s Bay is that it was created by katie dippold whose name you may not immediately recognize but whose tweet from 10 years ago you definitely do:
“monsters in the backrooms” is still such a funny concept to me
“here’s a space that’s odd and makes you feel uniquely alone, like no one has ever been here before, but don’t worry, we put a critter in here because we thought that was boring”
So you only like the first 62 words of the 80 word post that established the concept? Fascinating.
yes
like that last paragraph is exactly what I described; an author overplaying their hand because they don’t grasp that the space being empty is far more interesting than anything you could possibly put into it
there are 1001 one things you can put into the backrooms that are more interesting than monsters
once you have done that, find something else to do with your creative efforts. not everything needs to be suitable for a video game.
no. wander my halls for 10,000 years.

finished pigeon mug from the tutorial series! i will probably list in the etsy shop soonish (if i haven't already by the time this posts). i'm really pleased with how it turned out, i may have to make more pigeon/dove species mugs (and also maybe another city pigeon with a different coloration since they come in so many color morphs)
More concept art of toph and sokka
ok so, I approached my local library with a proposal to donate a mural as a way to A: build portfolio/gain practical experience and B: give back to a beloved public institution. The director was very enthusiastic about it and i've been working on it since the beginning of March. Come with me as I endeavor to paint what is in all honesty an excessive amount of birds
I wanted the birds to look like they were actually in the space so first thing after doing the draft was to do a lighting study
after that I covered the walls in letters in lieu of a projector/vr headset bc i have neither of those :) Then i take a picture of the section of wall and superimpose the lineart over top of it so I can pencil in the lines
et voila
and that was a whole week on it's own so next comes the paintin' >:)
and now, the birds
Birds 1 and 2/14: Red Winged Blackbird, Male and female, Agelaius phoeniceus
Bird 3/14, American Robin, Turdus migratorius
hoo boy, ok *out of breath*
GIVE IT UP FOR BIRD NUMBUH 5, THE CANADIAN GOOSE, Branta canadensis!!!!
this guy took me about 4 days to completely finish, all of those freakingk coverts were a bear to render
speaking of obnoxious coverts:
bird 5/14, Bluejay, Cyanocitta cristata
the friggin stripes almost got me chat, i may not make it
Madam....
birds 6 and 7: American Goldfinch, Spinus tristis, male and female
pleasantly simple to paint! next is the flickerrrrr
*melts into goo*
BIRD NUMBER 8, (yellow shafted) NORTHERN FLICKERRRRR, Colaptes auratus
genuinely made me start questioning my sanity around day 3, it's half the size the of the goose, WHY did it take me 4 days to finish??
nothing but pain and suffering, i'm sure hope the next bird will be much easier and with FAR less barring :)
in other news, I am losing my sanity hairline
You cant get this on any other website
Ah, but yes you can! Ordinary Sausage on youtube has spent years providing content for anyone who'd like to see just what would happen if you made a sausage out of whatever you can think of:
Recently Mr. Sausage has also been putting more time into his non-sausage videos, including stuff like Chicken Boiled in Nuclear Green Kool-Aid and Carbonated Eggs. Check it all out if you aren't prone to being easily grossed out.

If Pikiwedia says it it must be true.
I made Pikiwedia real. Works for any Wikipedia page. Use this wisely :)
Oh, wary dell vone
Goodmorning to the Anthropic Claude AI training scraper that suddenly decided to request 660 thousand pages (exactly the number I had remaining on the starter plan) and brought Pikiwedia down.
Sudden switch from diverse user agents like chrome, safari, messenger preview to Just Claudebot. I'm not even mad though, this is maybe the funniest thing possible, because I've inadvertently poisoned their training data with thousands of fucked up articles with normal urls.
Pikiwedia perseveres, back up with a better robots.txt. I hope Anthropic has a gery vood time with Pikiwedia's data :))
It was important to me that she puts emphasis on the TOK
Waiting for my flight and desperately hoping my boss doesn’t find me before we board so I can just draw on the plane for 6 hours (work trip)
Finally home from the work trip and I got so much time to draw this trip while waiting for other people to do their jobs that I think the art block has been successfully conquered.
Also, not having WiFi on the plane to grab references was really helpful because it forced me to stop taking it so seriously and just play around. And probably most importantly stop being hard on myself for something not looking right.
It’s not FR artwork so probably won’t post it but it is still dragon art so maybe.
apparently I've forgotten how long it takes to finish out a proper illustration since I haven't done one since march...2025...still probably like 5-10 more hours of work in here after working all day...
Here's a tiny teaser image below the cut because I think showing the part that's not done yet is fun. Featuring scribbles that may become birds later and lighting effects on stone that I haven't fully worked out yet.

Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.
He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"
"What?"
He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"
"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."
Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.
Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.
#i love prayer plants but they're fussy so I don't keep them#can we have a picture op they're so pretty
Behold, Dorothea
(Naming my plant "Gift of God," and then giving her to a seminarian with just the explanation that it's a prayer plant? Okay, that's my bad.)
I should also add- I ran into my rabbi and explained the situation. I then asked, earnestly, if there was a remedy. A mikveh of sorts, or a beit din, or something.
He turned to me, sighed, and said in a very deadpan tone-- "Plants don't have covenants, Joy,"
So Theodora's a free agent according to rabbinic opinion. I guess I'll permit her to be Roman Catholic.
I’m gonna be honest that’s the healthiest prayer plant I’ve ever seen, so maybe there is something to be said for making your plants catholic.
